This question is based off this quote from ramunematt
“But when I think about it, know that on my death, the atoms that have been my body and brain, and created my mind, will return to the universe. They’ll stay around on Earth for millions of years, inhabiting the bodies of countless people and other organisms, but eventually, aeons from now, they will return to the great engines of creation that formed them. The stars. When the earth is a sterile, charred rock,
my body will be part of stars, planets, comets' tails
and brightly shining nebulae. Some of me will briefly fuel a distant sun and be burnt into energy, and the photons that were once me will skim the edges of the universe, spiral into black holes, and maybe illuminate the face of a child looking at the night sky for the very first time. So in a way you do get immortality."
So I offer this question to all atheists here.
Tell me where you think the molecules of your:
Head
Torso
Legs
Arms
Waist
Will be in….
10
20
10,000
10,000,000,000 years

“It is all a part of the big illusion we perpetuate upon ourselves and which is in turn perpetuated upon us. When we believe we engage the illusion, when we stop believing we shatter the illusion and ourselves in the process because we are part of it."
Well, I hope my molecules of my torso and such are still attached since I should still be living in 10-20 years.
As for 10,000 years, I would guess that most of my atoms would become part of the ground (buried) or water (cremated and spread into a body of water).
In 10,000,000,000 years I think the Earth would have been consumed by the Sun by then, so my molecules with either by part of the charred planet that will be Earth, fueling the Sun, or possible compressed into a singularity as a result of the Sun dieing.
But why did you choose to use the word “morbid”? What’s so morbid about what I said?
Well this is actually true. Your molecules that made you up do disentegrate into the earth. Actually the last breath you breath is a mole of atoms spread out. We are probably breathing at this moment the last breath exhaled by Hitler. Creepy eh.
But where will all my molecules be after my death. I think the better question is why do you care and why should I care. This may be the pointless question ever. Of course not surprising from someone that has no point to their existence now do we Weasel.
10 - South America building my army.
20 - Sitting atop a throne being worshiped by all the earth, while my team of scientists work on a fountain of youth potion for me.
10,000 - Still ruling the world.
10,000,000,000 years - Getting bored of ruling the world.
I hardly see why that is a morbid question for atheists alone (and I don’t think the subject is morbid personally). Many religions and traditions teach essentially the same thing. Why do you think we have the phrase “ashes to ashes, dust to dust”?
As for what ramune said...I can’t think of anything more beautiful than to join the cosmic universe.

Well mostly carbon, until it reacts with other chemicals and creates compounds, that can and probably will be broken into the original atoms, and compounds that already exist in your body, bonds might be broken into the original atoms, and so on.

Why is this question only for Atheists? I mean... Even as a Christian I believe that my body will still be on Earth even after I die. I’m not that deluded.
10 Years - Hopefully living a peaceful life with the one I love, possibly in London. Wherever she wants to live. ^^
20 years - Same place, preferably. But who knows?
10,000 Years - buried in the ground somewhere. Maybe it’ll be like futurama and we’ll have graveyards in space. That would be awesome.
10,000,000,000 years - Wherever... I mean, by that time the Galaxy will probably have imploded due to The Super Massive Black Hole at it’s center. How awesome would that be?

I’m gonna quote Dane Cook.
“He laughed at me because I believe in Heaven? Hey, buddy, you’re gonna grow into a ficus."
“Now wouldn’t it be funny, if some big sweaty guy with an axe came into the woods, cleaved you down, chained you up, dragged you through the mud and the muk, brought you to the sawmill, brought your dust to the paper factory, and then we print the Bible on him!"
Or, rather, loosely quote.
Okay Ramunematt, what is the harm in having a religion, because [according to you] you’re going to die anyway. Better safe than sorry, right?

“better safe than sorry”
So you’d sacrifice truth in being a coward haha. Yea that’s totally just right.
That is the most bullshit line I’ve ever heard. First of all that spits upon religion right there. It teaches you to have faith, not use it as a tool to ensure that you can’t be wrong when death comes. Secondly that spits upon reason and logic. Your saying you will help spread ideals falsely just cause your a coward and have fear in what will really happen after death.
No no that is just awful. To both the people who don’t believe in god and to the ones who do. That just ain’t right.

Nonetheless, I’m right. I’d rather be Christian for the sole purpose of not going to Hell, than to be an atheist because I was convinced that nothing else was possible.
Besides, if you got into a car, would you not put on your seat belt, because “you won’t crash”?
Yea devoiding yourself of reason and logic jsut becuase your a coward is really something you could live with personally. As stated that’s a disgrace to the believers and non-believers.
And your own personal protection can’t even be related to what will happen to you after death. I mean that’s just manipulating that ideal of protection to fit that. Doesn’t mean they are actually in the same context.
But I could give a similar question to that. If people are so valiant in your faith why do you put a seatbelt on if you know if you were to die you’ll get to go to heaven quicker.

There are literally hundreds of different religions today. What makes you feel so safe with your particular religion? Because it says it’s the right one? Every religion thinks it’s the right one. The only reason you feel your particular religion is more right than any other is because that’s how you were brought up. If you lived in India, you would be brought up as a Hindu. If you were born in Japan, you would be brought up as a Buddhist. If you were born in Africa in a tribe, you would be brought up to believe in the Juju atop the mountain. You could be just as wrong as anybody else.
