A question to theists

If a God(whichever one of your choice that you don’t believe in) came to you and told you who he/she/it was and proved it’s powers to you, would you still hold your religious values as absolute truths?

nothing is absolute, my beliefs stand, but are open to interpritation.

I would still follow my own beliefs (at least for a while) depending on how convincing they are.

There is also a verse about the anti Christ Don’t know the exact quote “He shall cause a statue to speak and perform wonders” or something. But yeah I am aware of that verse. But then it gets all confusing because if Christianity is true those could be the false christs or the real one, or if Christianity is not true, you’d still be worried he is a false God.

It would also depend on the message of the “god” who spoke to me. A lot of ex-christians I know usually turn to a sort of pseudo-wiccan religion that allows them to do whatever they want. If that “god’s” teachings were “do what you want etc." I wouldn’t believe that for a second. But if the message was relatively strict and gave moral absolutes etc. (sort of like the Christian God) I might be convinced.

I would think it would also depend on what he claims to be. For instance if it was some one like Zeus or something. I know that if something that was way more poweful for any human’s imagination or something came to me and told me things I didn’t agree with, I’d sure as hell not make it angry by disobeying anything it said.
