I seriously believe that abortion is murder. But there are some xtrm circumstances where I can see it fit to be carried out. For example, if a women is simply careless and gets pregnant because she either refuses a condom or doesn’t force her partner to wear one (or doesn’t take BC) or anything that she can effect... Then she should keep the child and live with the punishment.

With that being said, rape victims are oftentimes impregnated by their attacker. And under these circumstances, where the mother would be carrying the child of a man that stalked, attacked, and raped her... Abortion could be a viable option, as she will likely resent the child anyway.

There are of course other circumstances where I can agree to abortion. But most of the time, I say it’s murder.

I think abortion is okay.

It’s her body, so why not? Who do people think they are, telling women everywhere that they can’t do certain things with their bodies when it is none of their business? If you don’t like abortion then fine, but leave everyone else alone.

I believe in the right to choose. I would probably never choose to have an abortion myself, but neither do I want to take away women’s rights to choose what they do with their own bodies.

And as a woman, I can definitely understand why some might feel as if that is their only option at the time.

I also think we need to improve access to contraceptives. If education and access were improved, abortion would become much less of an issue.

i believe women should have a right to abortion, but it shouldn’t be made readily available. This way, women who see it as type of contraceptive will be discouraged to use it, and women who really do not want a baby will be able to use it. even if abortion is made illegal, those who really want an abortion will see a street doctor to perform it. this way, those who really want it stay safe.

i’m pro-choice, although i doubt i’d have an abortion myself.

I don’t know so much about the “readily available” part, but I do agree that “abortion as a contraceptive” is not good.

Which is why I think it’s necessary to make regular contraceptives more readily available. Of course you can’t force people to be responsible, but a lot of unwanted pregnancies occur (especially in teens) because of the difficulties of obtaining them.

We still have a huge double standard in our health system (even in Canada...I imagine it may be worse in some parts of the U.S.) when it comes to women’s sexual health.

I believe it is the woman’s decision and only their decision. If the woman is unfit to be parent (like a 14 year old kid or whatnot) then the child is better off dead than going through the troubles.

Just to elaborate on me saying “Yes." a while ago as I didn’t have time to explain just then.

I think that it would have to be before the heart starts beating if you are to have an abortion. Because I myself dont see embryo’s as living human beings. They don’t have thought, a nervous system or emotions.

I would probably only offer abortion to those who really need it. Not those who are just doing it because they changed their mind halfway through.

Um... it’s a lot more different than telling a kid, “you were a mistake and now we’re going to kill you”.

Besides, there are already tons of children who are up for adoption but never get adopted.

To people who call it murder, ask yourself...if you were a women that got raped when the guy just happened to sperm and get you pregnant how would you not have a right to abortion in that case? Later on in life what if you were to give birth to a baby that the guy inpregnanted into you? Are you going to say to the kid that his biological father made him by raping the mom?
