Not to mention all the straight people on this site alone that are against all marriages.

Are you talking about Someonenew’s civil unions for every one thread? If so I think (not sure) you may have missed the point he was trying to make.

I was referring to the many members over the past few years that have expressed their total dislike of marriages and in some cases have advocated for the abolishment of marriage all together.
Just saying, opinions are opinions. You like marriage; get married, you don’t like marriage; then don’t. That’s all.

It does tell you that same sex marriage goes beyond a black and white “human rights” issue. If thats all it was for me then I would support it.

It does not go beyond “human rights”, equal rights for all?!? If straight couples are allow to do it, why can’t gay couples? Are they not human? Do they not deserve equal rights?
If so, you are against basic human rights. The fact that religious bigots, have been getting away with this violation for so long is disgusting.

Its not personal, I know I have nothing to gain personally for being against gay marriage, and if it simply was allowing people to have equal rights I would support it. But the Bible says its wrong, and if I had the opportunity to vote for or against it, I would vote in accordance to my beliefs. If you can’t understand that than you are very closed minded Plex.

Yes, Im very closed minded about equal rights. Basic human rights.
I thought I would never see the day, when I ran into another human being, who wanted to strip away another humans rights, just because they are diffrent. - right now,I am ashamed of being so closely related to you.

You guys don’t pay any attention or do you just don’t understand? I believe they constitutionally have the right to be together and if it weren’t condemned according to the bible (in both the OT and NT) I would support it. But as a Christian, if I had the opportunity to vote on the issue I would feel obligated to vote according to what the Bible says. Its not because I hate any particular group or anything, or because I’m “afraid of change” its because the word which I live by condemns that union.

It is condemned by the Old Testament, not the NT. I thought that the laws of the OT did not apply because the NT dispelled them all? If your following what is and isn’t condemned in the bible then you should lobby to have anyone who works on a Sunday stoned to death.

I know s.o.n, its your right, to vote someones freedom away, it doesnt change the fact, that it is a horrible act.. really a crime against humanity..

But any case, in the US, they have a wonderful thing ensuring everyone has equal rights. When every, someone trys to inforce prop 8, it will be eventually over turn, by the supreme courts.

Romans 1
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
