Many people on this forum discuss about why God invented evil, and is ot going about to erase it.
I think, that world without evil would be just stupid. evils is necessary part of life. If there would be no evil, there would be no progress. Every progress, whole meaning of it is to make world better place, to fight evilness of this world. That’s why there’s evil - God wants us to progress, to evolve, to fight evil with science, and reason. That’s making us better. So stop arguing about “Why God will not remove evil from the world”. It’s pointless.
Evil is here to make life more fun.
I mean, look at Catholic priests, they (supposedly) are not evil, thus, they have no fun, thus, they (suposedly) resort to molesting small children!
Note, in light of this statement, claiming priests are not evil is also admitting they are graduates of Neverland Ranch fondling academy
As King Boo said, Evil is the absence of God and without evil we would not have good. Think about it, how would we know what good is with nothing to compare it to?

Just like cold doesn’t exists, it’s just the absence of heat. ;D
Actually, the cold is a microscopic...(the scientific community is still in debate as to whether or not it counts as an organism)...known as the rhino virus that infects people with complete disregard for the weather.

Meanwhile in reality “evil” is subjective and can be different for every person. The evil I perceive in this world is clearly not evil, in your eyes.

Isn’t your god suppose to be everywhere?

Another example is black is not a colour, but is the absence of light. Aha!
Temperature and light intensity can be measured. Trying to compare good and evil to physical properties is a fairly stupid idea.

Well, hello GPlex. I see that you are going to be a challenge. You are correct, God is everywhere, however He created humans who had free will to make choices. So, evil is the absence of God, or the absence of good.
You are also correct to say that light and dark as well as hot and cold can be measured.
Finally, you are correct that evil is subjective and different for everyone.
Now, I will use your arguement to ask you this, isn’t hot and cold, and light and dark also subjective? I am not aware of an exact measurement that says that something is officially hot or cold, or dark or light. As for measuring good and evil, you can certainly measure guilt of one who has done evil, and you can do various psychological measurements to guage the reactions of the victims of evil.
Well I don’t think there are many out there trying to argue god invented evil. Obviously you can’t have something so perfect and ultimate good create the object of our distaste. That’s just bad PR.
Sure, after living so many years with the existence of evil, maybe we can say it is a necessary part of life. But if evil didn’t exist, none of us know how we would respond to that question now do we. Life isn’t so linear... if something as large as that changes... the whole world changes.
However, it is a silly suggestion to begin with. Good and evil don’t exist. These are manipulation tools use to control the weak and empower the strong. There is only right and wrong... and know there is no perception to them. There is a right and there is wrong and one does not equal good and the other does not equal wrong. Right and wrong have no perception but obviously we aren’t smart enough organisms to realize what right and wrong is.
Good and evil have always been manipulating tools to get some people to bow down and others to step on them while they lay. Good and evil always suggests an ongoing battle... whether it be gods versus demons, religion versus religion, poor versus rich, or nation versus nation. It is there to manipulate thought. Trust me, there is no good and there is no evil. There are only the righteous and those who aren’t righteous. You can call them what you want but they are not a group, they are not at war, they are not factions, they are not split so black and white. There are gray areas. It is simply those who do the right things and those who do wrong things. One side doesn’t praise god every night and the other worship Satan at night.
It is simply human beings making decisions... if they make a wrong one they are not condemned as the ultimate sinners in the world that will bring the world to hell. People make mistakes but the important thing is that they realize when they are wrong such that they do the right thing next time around. The idealist in me says this world can learn to have justice as a dominating part of their life where the right thing matters more than anything else. The realist in me sees ignorant human beings set on using public enemies to manipulate the weak to further control while making groups based on silly divisions. I wish the idealist in me would win but of course that would be the right thing to happen now wouldn’t it.

At least, that is my opinion.
Hello it’s Gplex. Yes, it will be pretty hard to make me stray from logic.
Your logic. Premise1 - God is everywhere. Premise2 - Evil is the absent of god. From that I can deduce that you believe that there is no evil.
No hot and cold and the intensity of light can have an agreed scale which to measure such things. Good and evil cannot have this universal agree upon scale.
Example of accepted scale - Boiling point is hotter than the freezing point of water.
Guilt just like evil is perceived differently by different people. There is no universal scale to referee to.

Agreed...good and evil are neutral until put on our own set of emotional scales and even then emotions themselves are neutral. It’s how we mentally and physically percieve emotions that determine whether they are good or bad to that individual.

I thought God made all the rules. Speculatively speaking, nothing would be necessary if God didn’t want it to be.
HellRider wrote:

If evil is a problem, then progress as a goal is only needed to be continued to eventually eliminate this problem. Preventing yourself from eliminating this problem because you don’t want to achieve your goal (which would render you unable to make further progress) is a stupid idea because once your goal is achieved the concept of needing to progress towards it is rendered invalid.

A completely subjective statement when evil is not a physical force and there is no universal agreement on what “evil” is.

Science and reason aren’t opposed to good or evil. Human emotion is. Any person or doctrine that tells you their version of Good and Evil is based on the laws of nature or science is bullshitting you.

How about no.
