our principle didnt allow us to wear costumes last year, were not sure why, i heard its cuz he says “were too old” to wear costumes. thas stupid. some people say its cuz hes a seventh day adventist and dont celebrate halloween. hes a prick.
at least we still got candy.

im not really big on halloween, but i still think its cool when people wear their costumes to school.

can they ban it? i dont know, they can ban prayer in school why not halloween?

You may know that public schools can’t teach religion, so Halloween is about the Saint. Crismas is about St. Nicholas.

You’d be surprised. People can find ways of getting anything banned.

For example, my mom worked at a school where the idiot principal banned little snowmen erasers in winter. WHY?

Cocaine.

Halloween isn’t about any saint. It was originally a Celtic/pagan sacred day called Samhain. It only became “All Hallows Eve” and “All Saints Day” when the Christian church appropriated it. But the way Halloween is generally celebrated today doesn’t really reflect the traditions of any religion. For most it’s just a night of fun...a time to dress up, have a party, etc.

Also, in the Christian tradition Christmas isn’t “about St. Nicholas”. It’s supposed to be a celebration of the birth of Christ. In the pagan tradition it’s Yule...and it’s a celebration of the return of the light.
