Athiests, just like a Christian confines their faith to a book, you confine your belief to what you can observe on our planet. There is a good chance there are more materials other than atoms and energy in the universe, but you base your inferences and theorys on the basis that nothing else exists. You cannot prove that a God or higher power exists, nor can you prove that what we see on our small ball of dust is all there is. You can deny God, but why formulate a believe on only what we can observe? We can only observe a micro-fraction of our galaxy, and our galaxy is only one among an un-calculable number.
Atheists do not confine their beliefs to a book. What is wrong with you?
They write about there beleifs
Which is not really atheism as a whole, just what applies to one atheist.

Okay so what assumptions should we use instead? You said it yourself that we cannot prove whether or not god exists, so why assume that one does? Which one(s) would we assume exists anyways?
And how do we formulate beliefs on what we cannot observe? The only way to do that is to make something up.

To tell everyone the truth. No one here is going to come up with such a solid question that no one can answer. No one here is going to come up with a question that stumps everyone and has them think twice about why they ever believed in god.
The truth is athsists wont take anything short of god litteraly comeing down from the sky and yelling here i am. And most theists wont stop believeing becuase some random guy on a debate site said its unlogical to believe in a god.

That doesn’t mean the truth is unknowable, rather that many people are unwilling to accept it.

Why DOESN’T he do this? He’s can do anything! It would prove to almost everyone beyond a shadow of doubt that he existed, unless it could be explained as hallucination or a trick.

Way to try and belittle our statements without addressing any of our points.

Then by all means explain how I took you out of context.

Of course not, religious people have too much time and emotion mixed in with their religious beliefs to just let it go. It also doesn’t help that religion (Christianity in particular) makes you feel like you are abandoning your own parents/children/friends if you leave, eg my father, children etc etc.

Pretty much. If there is a god, he/she/it knows exactly how to convince me that he/she/it exist. The only way to get people to think rational is to make them THINK. What better way to do that by challenging their beliefs.
I know this is a pathetic attempt to censor those who would engage in such horrible acts of making people use their brains. But throwing out the “oh why even bother” argument isn’t going to convince most of us to censor ourselves to ideas that in my eyes are moral and intellectually bankrupt.
