The abandonment issues is the result of never knowing his mother/father (there’s a whole episode dedicated to it).

Also, I’ve known more Christians than atheists that have been alcoholics and depressives. Just saying.

He did meat his father didn’t he? It was a human or something weird.

eventually perhaps, but I don’t remember. Obviously even if he did, they wouldn’t change his character for the sake of the show.

Seth Macfarlin himself made a statement saying that (paraphrase) that Family Guy take a mirror on society shows how ugly it is, I think he said that on the 100th episode special. He is trying to use comedy to persuade people that society is screwed up. Brian, the character he based off of himself, in the episode states in a comedic way, a justification for God not exist. He wasn’t merely trying to be funny.
@ Khorib
Yes Brian has abandonment issues, and in the Family Guy universe God isn’t really helping anyone but “Karen”, based on Macfarlin’s mirror to society God isn’t worth worshiping and Brian is the most logical. He has problems and “knows” that its best not to rely on God. This is an intentional message (which many of you guys would agree with).
You use the term christian fairly liberally Khorib, just saying.

Yes this would be the message. Not that atheists are alcoholics and depressed people who need Jesus like you implied originally.

Notice I said from a Christian perspective and from that outlook everyone needs Jesus. Brian represents a steriotype seen in Christian medias.

I merely use the term to describe those that use it earnestly to describe themselves, simple as that. Liberal or not, it’s fair.

John 7:24
24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

To call someone something they want to be called even if they aren’t.

Emos are sad people, its rare to find a christian emo, since christians tend to be more happy because of their beliefs. I’m not christian, but honestly, if I was I’d be pretty happy that I would be living in paradise for eternity and this dark, dreary life was not the entirety of my existence.

I’ve been like many times happier as an atheist...
