It all comes down to standard of proof as gplex said.

so

Scientific proof is based on logic
Religious proof is based on emotion

but

Logic makes us greater than the animals.
Emotion makes us human.

Therefore

To be human is a balance of logic and emotion.

This is not a linear scale though for individual humans, but a broad spectrum for humanity. All atheists except the true nihilists (which tend to be those just converting to atheism), have some emotional beliefs, its just logically atheists see their emotional beliefs to be much less damaging than religious beliefs.

Me, I am a nihilist, we are just smart animals who evolved to use logic, and can see the logic in society and religious behaviour to form societies.

ps, Diagnosed with DPD, schizophrenia and depression, but that does not make me dumb, or whose opinion does not matter. Apparently still gives me a free pass to heaven despite being an atheist.

PPS, Anti-psychotic drugs rule!

PPPS, I earned a degree in Astrophysics despite my problems.

PPPPS Logic is a great tool in defeating my schizophrenic impulses, logic has saved my life, but did nor make me happy.

Science is based on physical evidence and reasoned logic. Most religions are base on a fairy tale.
Greater? Greater than what? At flying un aided? At holding our breath for 2 hours? At being able to survive 100 years without food or water?
You make a bunch of unfounded claims without proving anything.

Christianity is based on Faith.

Why do you have faith in it then? You do know that if you were born in India you would be Hindu or Japan you’d be Buddhist, and of course you wouldn’t think Jesus is the messiah, so I’d say it’s more to do with your upbringing that faith.

Not necessarily John. I have faith in it because my faith was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit. There are many so-called “Christians” that don’t have true faith.

And if you were born into a different religion you wouldn’t even believe in the Holy Spirit, so you’re upbringing has a lot more to do with it than faith.

As usual, I didn’t say exactly what I mean. That’s not necessarily true either John. Many people raised in one religion have converted to another.

Not saying it’s not possible to convert somebody, but once more like I’ve been saying a person’s upbringing has more to do with one’s religion than faith, because a person’s parents usually are the ones that instill that faith into them. I mean if somebody tells you something is true your whole life then it’s not really faith.

Your last sentence is correct. Faith comes from learning and believing what the Holy Spirit leads you to believe.

lol, but if you were brought up your whole life to believe that God isn’t real you wouldn’t be saying that statement right now.
