Don’t get excited Creationists, I’m not saying evolution isn’t true. I’m just clearing up one of the misconceptions that so many people can’t seem to get through their heads.

No credible evolutionist says we evolved from monkeys. Rather, that humans and monkeys both shared a common ancestor.

Can we put this misconception to rest now?

Once again, I ask. What is the difference of saying “We evolved from monkeys” and “we shared a common ancestor”?

Surely evolution doesn’t work backwards, so a more human like creature couldn’t have been the ancestor of a monkey.

Evolution implies that man evolved from an ape.

No any of the current apes, our ancestor where much smarter, but you really think about it, human really do come under apes.

We share some DNA with apes. Okay. How does that mean we came from them?

A human and a daffodil share some DNA. Does that mean we came from flowers too?

Where did I say we came from apes? Im saying someone looking in and didnt notice our advance thinking would classify us as apes.

Cid, you profoundly misunderstand evolution.

Lay off until you understand it.

In biology, evolution is a change in the inherited traits of a population from one generation to the next. This process causes organisms to change over time. Inherited traits are the expression of genes that are passed on to offspring during reproduction. Mutations in genes can produce new or altered traits, resulting in the appearance of heritable differences between organisms. Such new traits also come from the transfer of genes between populations, as in migration, or between species, in horizontal gene transfer. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population, either non-randomly through natural selection or randomly through genetic drift.

Don’t water it down with added words. At it’s core, this is what evolution is.

“A gradual process in which something changes into a different and more complex or better form”

they did not say we come from monkeys they said we came from monkey like apes we used to be smart apes and evolved and got smarter..
like lions and tigers share 80%of each others genes thats why they can breed but they are not the same but are in they are distant cousins

I’ve always “got it” dude.

They try to claim that man evolved from primates, which is bullshit.

But like I said. Whatever.

Creation and Evolution are both full of crap. Neither is really correct.

Evolution “might” occur over extremely large periods of time. But it’s not evolution, it’s a series of adaption. I guess if you look at it as a whole and ignore the several small changes that happened as a result of adaption, you can call it all evolution.

Evolution is just a term Cid, “a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet”, it doesn’t make the process less valid or true.

Evolution isn’t really even real.

If it was, evolution and adaptation would virtually be the same. Since they both imply small changes over time to better suit an organism.

Not anymore.

Evoltion is bullshit.

And I’ve lost all faith in God and Christianity. So I don’t really believe in Creationism either.

Adaption is a process in evolution. Adaption happens when a certain species changes in small ways i.e. changing of fur color to better suit an environment.

Evolution is defined when those adaptations happen so much that the species is totally different and can no longer reproduce with its original incarnation.
