What is heaven?

So tell me believers what is heaven? What is it like?

I could not tell you since I’m not dead.

Well some beliefs like Christianity have described it before. But this was more assuming what if the religious people were right.

That would be only people’s speculation of what Heaven is like. No one really knows.

In my personal opinion if Heaven is real it is a place where there is no crime,poverty,sickness,death,etc and it’s somewhat like a dream.

Going to Hell because of a simple lie? I mean, everyone has lied at least once in their life. This is a flaw if you ask me.

Yeah. I don’t think you’d be sent to hell just for THAT.

Even pastors, people who go to church, possibly even holy men have lied. Although if one were to believe such a thing, there are ways of repenting oneself. I’ve lied many times, sometimes to get myself out of bad situations, and also to make someone feel better. I would say that lying is not such a bad thing all the time.

The only time lieing would be bad(defently wrong in the situation) is if someone had to die or get seriously hurt by your lie. I don’t think that happens all too often. Maybe back in biblical times but not anymore.

Many 'believers' don’t know this but heaven is described in Revelations. It’s so many cubits by so many cubits. (144,000 cubits or something) and it has twelve gates and will be on a newer form of earth. I remember reading this stuff, perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.

I haven’t read the entire bible, just a few passages and such. I should read up on revelation. I’ve only read some parts about the prophecies.

I think it’s even funnier that heaven is actually described as a 1500 mile cube. It only furthers my point.

Heaven might get a little crowded

Well if I remember correctly, something liek less than 500,000 people will be in heaven. That leaves the other TRILLIONS of souls to have a rave in hell.

Not the Borg! But hell seems better, because an atheist gets you into limbo, with all the other atheists. So I get to hang out with hot atheist chicks, philosophers, and Gplex.

exactly. everyone has done something wrong. no one is perfect. and, according to orthodox christian beliefs, the wages of sin is death. so, basically, according to the christian religion, we are all deserving of hell, because we have all screwed up, and we are all tainted.

thats where jesus entered in. he is God, and thus he lived a perfect life. but, he was killed, banished for 3 days. he didn’t die for what he had done, but for what we had done. because of that sacrifice, anyone who accepts it can use him to let God look past all of our sin.

as for heaven...i don’t think its something we can really comprehend, just like God isn’t something we can fully comprehend. but, it is very clear in the bible that heaven is a paradise. i think that a lot of people, especially christians, have a lot of misconceptions about heaven, thinking it will be some boring place. you have to remember, you have this all powerful God who loves you and knows you better then you can know yourself and he has given you this place to exist for the rest of eternity....i think he’s gonna make one that you will like.
