Whats so wrong about an afterlife?

Whats wrong with beliveing that your more then just a colsection of scynronised chinicals? That theres more to your existance then good luck? That you continue on after death?

Death is inevitable, it happens to us all.

We are dying form the moment we are born, the biological clock that is set ticking in the womb slowly cunts down till our last breath.

Death is not to be feared, but rather embraced as it happens to us all and there is no point fearing that what we can not change.

Yea exactly. I find it more intriguing that people find it harder to understand that death is the end.

I mean afterlife and things about living on after death comes from man’s greatest fear, which is death. Thus if you tell yourself, others, ect enough times over many years that after death there is something else then you have a bunch of people unafraid of death which means they don’t mind screwing up this life, or having a bad one and what not.

That’s how this whole afterlife thing arose. It’s a way of controlling a people and manipulating people. If you make people believe that this life is only a preparation for the next they are more willing to lay down during corruption, lies, and overall poverty and whatnot. I mean that’s why you can get people in radical Islam to do suicide missions.

So that’s why I have a really hard time in believing in an afterlife.


But as Matt said what is so wrong with believe that death is the end of life. As it makes the most logical sense.

i guess it depends on what kind of afterlife ur talking about.
if u think when u die trying to do a “good” cause ull go to heaven where therer 70 virgins waiting for u, then thas wrong.

but if u think the afterlife is... a second chance, God’s promise for good people, reincarnation, then nothings wrong.

just cuz we believe in an afterlife doesnt mean were gonna screw up our life. many good people in history believed in an afterlife, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Junior, etc.

Why would you want to live forever anyway? That would suck. Since it’s forever, you would get bored eventually. After that then what? Suffer and not being able to do anything about it? You wouldn’t be able to get out of it. People have gone mad in similar situations as this.

imagine ur living in the year, lets say 500 bc. ur a shepherd. someone comes up to u an offers u everlasting life and yes everlating youth too.

now u turn down his offer because u think living forever would be “boring”.

so u die an ur forgotten.

Yea I would never want to live forever. I mean I think the worst thing is you’d have to see the passing of all your loves ones that you’ve known or cared for all pass away as you live on.
