Well, it seems that Itachi has ventured further into the realm of ignorance with an insipid attempt at vilifying Israel.

Let it be known that I do not support Israel’s aggressive policies - a recent example being the invasion of Lebanon, which I think was outrageous and condemnable. However, while Israel’s offensives too often result in collateral damage and loss of life to civilians, non-combatants are not specifically targeted. They are casualties of a stupid war that’s claimed the lives of thousands; they are not specifically casualties of the state of Israel. The Islamic militants, on the other hand, seem to think that blowing themselves up in a crowd of civilians or firing rockets into Israel is a good idea. Both sides are guilty of certain crimes, so don’t pretend that the Israelis are terrorists or demons. Then again, I would expect nothing less from such an obtuse cretin.

So, in conclusion, one must take both sides of the conflict into consideration and not simply demonize the Palestinians or Israelis. Such activities have gotten the peace process nowhere. Of course, knowing Itachi, I don’t think that he’ll let reason get through to him. If not, then too bad. Perhaps he should apply for a position in the propaganda arm of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

Israel is NOT always bombing innocent civilians. As for the massacre in Sabra and Shatila - what, do you think that I would condone such a thing? It was indeed horrible, although I’m not sure if Sharon was personally responsible; the IDF forces and commanders that let the massacre happen are certainly guilty. But you must remember that war criminals are not always caught and prosecuted - Charles Taylor is fairly notorious but he wasn’t put to trial until recently (to give an example).
