Yeah no offense to anyone, but I think Wicca is complete fucking bullshit... basically for the same reasons that Fucky69 stated.
Only I like the Druidic and Celtic stuff as a culture, just because its interesting, but as a religion, blehh...
Have you even studied anything about them, or are you making this comment purely on rumours you’ve heard?
I’ve studied some of it, read one of my friends books that he got from Barnes and Noble.
Plus the only people i’ve met that practice the religion are posers who do it to give themselves a certain image. But I already discussed all of that with you on MSN Etain.

Lol well for one thing I posted that before we talked. Second, I wouldn’t say reading 1 book, and talking to people who practice but don’t understand anything about what they’re practicing, can give you enough of a grasp on ANY religion.
I DO have some issues with Wicca myself, or at least the way most people practice it. But that is mainly to do with the amount of misinformation that is out there...and people who don’t understand what they’re practicing, or are believing a very fictional historic interpretation of the religion.
Any Wiccan who understands what they’re practicing, and can put it in a proper historic context, has my respect.
I know I may seem a bit of a stickler for historic accuracy, but I really do think it’s important to keep straight what really is based on actual fact, what is borrowed from other sources, etc. There’s nothing wrong with borrowing from other sources, or having a modern interpretation of something - but when this is done it needs to be acknowledged, not passed off as something “ancient”.
I have similar issues with several druidic or celtic pagan groups who pretty much claim that their rituals are 100% historically accurate (in terms of Celtic religion), but that’s a whole different story.
I thought about being wiccen, but desided i just don’t feel like devoting my lifeto any sort of belife.

Yeah I see what you’re sayin Etain.
From what i’ve read, its just the average religion. Praise the god, do rituals, praise the god some more, follow some rules, and go to some sort of paradise.
And there are hundreds of religions that have the same basic principles. How am I supposed to know which one is the true religion?
I mean philosophies that come from the religions are great, but actually slaving myself to a god that is too cowardly to show itself if it even exists just seems pointless to me.
But thats just my outlook on religion in general right now.
If there is such thing as a hell, and I die tomorrow morning. I hope I don’t go there. Though i’m sure I will.

I guess that’s why I don’t believe in one “right” belief. It’s a little bit too complicated to go into here...
