Any pythagorean triangle solution that has whole positive numbers for sides. (3-4-5 triangle is a common one, 1-1-squareroot2 isn’t one because of the radical)
I think at least.

the thing is they give me two numbers like 28 and 45 and tell me to find the third one and what side it is.... they dont even tell me if its a leg or a hypotenuse

Uhh..It’s somthin like: If you have a Triangle (I think it has to be a right triangle?) There’s three sides usually Side A, B ad C. Depending on the question and the diagram of the triangle they give you might have two sides labled, if so then use the formula A(Squared) + B(Squared) = C(Squared) Plug in the numbers and solve for C.
I think >.<

To double check, actually.
@ Crys: There’s only two ways to do it; one should end up the number being irrational, one should make it rational. (between the 45 being hypotenuse, or another side)

they dont even tell me if the numbers are sides or hypotenuse tho so i cant figure it out they give me numbers like 28 and 45 and tell me to figure out which side it is and the measure

(Side 1)^2 + (Side 2)^2 = (Hypotenuse)^2
Now, if it’s 28 and 45, you can assume they are both sides or that 45 is hypotenuse. If you still can’t solve it, ask your teacher or look over your assignments.

You have two possibilities:
A=45
B=28
C=? (hyp)
Or
A=?
B=28
C=45 (hyp)
Whichever one comes out as a whole number (not something like 3.15653464) is the right answer. (considering that it’s to do with pythagorean triples)

lol. And you expect to pass a test the DAY BEFORE by cramming through asking people in internet forums?
Better fix those study habits.

I know what that’s like. Nice breather away from it to kind of step back and think about it slowly works.

Shouldnt there be a Long Leg, Short leg and Hypotenuse? Long leg being the side with the larger degree and short being the one with the smaller degree and the Hyp. being adjacent to the LL?
I dun even remember 3/4 of this stuff. I’m only good at algebra. Not at teh circlezz and squarezz.
