[Quote] #3 19 Oct 2007 05:57 pmJust starting to learn how. Right now I’m only to the point of making simple games of chance though. __________________
[Quote] #4 23 Oct 2007 10:05 pmI don’t, but it really depends on the kind of game you want to make. It’s also unlikely you’ll be creating a game from scratch from the inside out (unless it’s extremely simple). Most games today have 3D graphics, so if you want to work on the game’s “looks” or “outer skin” you’ll want to know 3D API’s like DirectX or OpenGL. (API = application programming interface. It’s like a computer language, but it’s higher-level than languages like C++ or Java.) If you want to work on internal game logic (for example AI) you may simply work with regular languages like C++ or Java. [Quote] #5 24 Oct 2007 02:40 amHow do I make basic internet games? I don’t have javascript. __________________ (\_/) Add Bunny to sig to help him achieve world domination.

For basic games you just use a HLL (high level language) like C++ or Java. I have a code written out that will let you play 3-card monty using C++, you will need Window’s Visual Studios 2005 or higher to be able to run it though. Haha it was my latest project in CECS 174 and took almost 6 hours to make the stupid thing. __________________
[Quote] #7 24 Oct 2007 01:15 pmWindow’s visual 2005? Man, the latest model I have is windows 2000 __________________ (\_/) Add Bunny to sig to help him achieve world domination.

Oh shit I mean Window’s Visual STUDIO’S 2005, yeah that should totally work. You’ll need to start up a new project using C++, Win95 format, make sure you select to have the project blank before you hit “Finish” when creating it. I’ll send the code to you sometime tonight through PM’s (intellectual property rights and all that bull shit). Beware, it’s about 4 pages worth of text, you prolly won’t understand a damn thing. __________________

[Quote] #11 25 Oct 2007 01:14 amMr. 1 2, do you want the game or not? (BTW, the graphics blow on it, but what can you expect from somebody who’s only been using C++ for about 6 weeks.) __________________

[Quote] #13 25 Oct 2007 02:01 amMine is less stick figures and more you placing a bet then a random generator telling you if you won. __________________
[Quote] #14 25 Oct 2007 08:26 amOh. Well, how hard is it? __________________ (\_/) Add Bunny to sig to help him achieve world domination.
[Quote] #15 25 Oct 2007 11:48 am
Um... not very? If you bet on the right card you get cash back, if you bet on the wrong card you lose cash. Really no other way to describe it. __________________
