Well, I’ve only got two years before I’m through with High School. I’ve decided that I AM going to college, but I’m not sure where to go. I was hoping I could get any kind of advice that those of you that have already been to or are currently attending college may have for choosing.
I don’t give a shit about friends to be honest. I don’t have any now. If I really care to, I’ll make friends wherever I go. One surefire thing I’ll do no matter where I go is participate in the marching band.
lol k...
i hate highschool though
since my only real friends go to a different school
and my girlfriend lives 5 hours away...
cant wait til the end of next year
gonna move down near my gf for that year,
while she finishes up high school
and then im going to go to college with her

all i need to say is
either go to college with a group of friends
or go to a smaller college
large colleges can be really hard to find new friends in.
its not the same as high school.
this is what ive heard anyway.
Actually it’s the opposite small school don’t really have as many social events for you to meet people, plus the whole community feel of a large college makes it easier to find friends.

im talking more for us less social people
seeing as in larger schools
there are always larger groups of friends
and it can kinda be more challenging to find a good friendship in a larger group of friends
well first off go to a school that has dorms why you ask?
its because you will have more freedom and have a idea of
independence from your parents.
another thing is make close friends (which includes both students and professors)
that is like the most important thing you can do in college.
because the world doesn’t care how smart you are, it only cares about who you know to get ahead.
cause you may never know the guy right next to you may have a father that owns i don’t know the WORLD or whatever.

Wow...what a bunch of terrible advice lol.
In my opinion anway
Go to a college that has the program you want.
After you’ve narrowed some down look into:
size - big or small? there are pros and cons to both
where will you live?
What are the classes like(ex. are you getting proffessors or TAs teaching most of your classes? Are they big or small?)
What’s the atmosphere of the school
What kind of student support is offered?
What’s the cost? Are there scholarships available?
And anything else that might concern you.

I really liked Oxford but Cambridge is nice too. If you cant afford to go abroad then I would suggest MIT or CalTech. However, for YOU, a community college would probably be best. With your intelligence level I wouldnt shoot too high.

Damn Chilly, I miss your first personality.
Regardless, your words don’t cut deep. I’m getting letters and emails rather frequently from the likes of Stanford and West Point.
