So I was in music appreciation class, we are studying the classical era right now, so the teacher writes two years on the board.
1776 and 1789
He asks “These were two years that inspired the classical period, can anyone tell me what wars happened on these dates?"
So we started off in 1776, he asks this kid and he says “World War 1?" and the stoner kid beside me even thought he was a moron, and the teacher politly, though not in exact words called him an idiot.
For the 1789 one....This one chick says “The civil war?" just damn.... There was more things during my freshman year like they said washington was on the penny, George washington was a loyalist, etc. Pretty bad shit.

Yeah, they make me laugh most of the time. There was also something about Lincoln being the second president or maybe it was the first they said, and the teacher read some of there test answers outloud because they were so stupid.
Like this is an example I can’t remember what exactly it was but this is paraphrased:
I crossed the Delware, and was the first president of the united states, who am I? The kid put TRUE as an answer....TRUE!

hahaha. Yeah, I can’t wait to see how these kids are in the real world.
My Year 10 history teacher was a pretty good example. He was almost like a drill sergeant in how he approached it. He made sure we know what we are being taught. He also encouraged initiative.
For example, he gave me the names of 5 soldiers who had given their lives for Australia. He also gave me their time of death and the formation they belonged to. From just that information, I had to find out their entire combat history: when they joined, where they fought, what battle they died in, etc. It was actually enjoyable, sort’ve like a detective project.
However, he didn’t just give us stuff like that. He also made sure that he handed us back our assignments the next day and fully analysed our good points and not so good points. He was a good history teacher, even if he was a bit of a hard ass. He got results.
