[Quote] #5 29 Oct 2007 11:36 amTo attempt to make English speakers not look like TOTAL morons. [Quote] #6 29 Oct 2007 08:21 pmBecause you probably don’t know what appositives, prepositional phrases, or adverbial phrases are. You would do terribly if you were told to underline the verb in a sentence and not even realize the verb is more than one word. You probably would identify a noun as the direct object if it were in a prepositional phrase. Do even know what part of speech “tomorrow” is without looking it up?

I fear for the intelligence of my generation. [Quote] #17 01 Dec 2007 03:40 ammy english teacher thinks “century” is a concrete noun. i am the only person in my class, hell i think im her only student that says its abstract.
[Quote] #18 03 Dec 2007 06:18 pmWhy in God’s name would century, which defines a period of 100 years, be abstract?
