Topic Review (Latest First)My strongest beliefs;
- Democracy is the best way to preserve the rights of the individual in society, which I feel is extremely important. Dictatorships and anarchy are both bad ideas in this respect.
- A one world nation is a good idea that would enable business to flourish as well as ensure the government can handle global threats and provide more relief to poverty and disaster stricken areas. War would be almost non-existent.
- Patriotism is wrong.
- Developing science and technology is important to improving the world we live in.
- It is important to have elements of both socialism and capitalism in society.
- Though I do not believe in the abolition of money or private property, high taxes are a good way to ensure everyone has their basic needs.
- Corporations need to be monitored because they cannot be trusted to voluntarily protect the environment.
- I am opposed to high military spending.
- All drugs should be legalized, but closely regulated.
- People should not be forced into a career choice or lifestyle by society, so long as they obey the law.
- The justice system should focus on rehabilitation more than punishment.
- The government should be secular and not racist, sexist or homophobic. Citizens and private businesses have a full right to express their prejudice in these areas through freedom of speech and press. Indifferent long as shit gets done. I am a liberal and a democrat. Posted by Voyager 17 Apr 2009 12:55 am I am a liberal/conservative. I believe in more state control and less federal control. I believe in a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
I believe, as our founders did, in a government based on the principals of “God-given rights”. I believe in freedom of religion and non-interference in religion by government as our constitution says. It does not say that any public entity cannot display religious symbols. It says that the government cannot impose a particular religion on any citizen. All religions have the right to be represented in the USA, without interference. The ACLU does not have the right to interfere with any religion or any persons right to do what their religion suggests, unless it violates a different law. Shadow Archon wrote:

Politicians are like dead meat.
The longer they stay out(in power) the more corrupt they get.

I would have to agree, also greedy, selfish and liars (our posts would also apply to lawyers). My stance, politicians are evils
