Then at this point, you go to Brushes, and select brush one, remember to also have the pencil out instead of the paintbrush, etc. Have the size set to one pixel, and the spacing set up to from 175% or above, tis your choice here.

And then from there, you start at the left, as you can see the little square shown at the top left edge of the avatar.

And then you hold shift, and then proceed to go from there by clicking on the top right, this will add a numerous amount of dots from the left to right, up and down, depending on which side you’re starting from, and vice versa.

Then just go to Navigation and reset it back to its original size, 100%, and then you come out with this.

Then, you go to image, and then canvas size, so that we can give it a white edging/border around the image it self.

First, switch the size to 149x149 pixels, and then press OK.

And as you can see from when it’s done, the borders aren’t evened out enough, so which is why you go back to canvas size, and change it to 150x150, but this time, you click on the bottom right arrow so that it comes out evenly, and then press OK.

And you’ll come out with this.

And this is where we come to actually adding the dotted line effect into the image.

You resize the sig/avatar, you can do this from the Navigation option, other than going to image size, which is a must, so that you can add the dots without having to keep going it over and over again so you can work with it better.

To start this example, you need an image, so I’m going to use this one.



First, you open up Photoshop, for this tut, I’m using CS2.

And then you open your image, like so.

And then you crop your image, me, I’m going to have it cropped to the size of 146x146, it doesn’t come out to that size when you crop it, which is why that you go to image, and image size, and then resize it to whichever size that you want.

And then after the image is cropped, you click on the background twice, then click on OK so that you can have room for transparency, although you can make it without, let’s just go with it for this tut.
