"..sense of sustainable morality”

A very useful observation/consideration.

Some might define “honor”, as a core conviction to the interest of a greater whole; an aspiration for, and commitment to something that poses value and promise that’s not merely limited to the personal benefit or gain of one’s individual self, and/or any direct relation to oneself.

Are females expected to be as 'straight forward' and 'trustworthy' as males?

I love honor. Yes, and so does everyone, even criminal minds have their treasured “honor among thieves” pacts.

I think honor in its fullest, is nothing less than glorious, beautiful to behold and partake in, admirable, and inspiring. Almost a super human trait that has been imbued into humanity. And even possibly within the animal realm on some levels.

When did 'honor' begin? And, is this precious attribute all but lost now, in these post-modern moral wasteland societies?

Honor is within every culture, yet varies in what’s customarily expected. And even within different cultures, there are various groups, which uphold their own distinct convictions.

Yes, and like you seemed to indicate, the standard of “honor”, for whatever reason, does vary from human females, to males, well at least as I can see, in “caucasian” societies.

How does a person determine their degree of honor? Doesn’t it really rely on who they are looking towards for approval? I’ve heard countless people say “I want my mother/father to be proud of me”

Innumerable people die for honor, and I think it’s something in which everyone ultimately strives for, because “no one” seems to want to die ingloriously...therefore yes of course honor has much value.

I guess to me, honor represents something in which displays the amount of sentience someone has achieved. This thus determines the real value of that soul’s experience.

Can honor be translated as ones level of devotion or allegiance to a particular group? Whatever it is, a person in the end only seems to be honored as much as they devoted their lives to their proclaimed cause.

As for white dominated societies, especially in the U.S....presently things are looking kind of bleak in regards to honor and common sense of sustainable morality...it’s disintegrating before our own bleeding eyes.

If we don’t reawaken these qualities within our hearts and views, we will surely be undone (“exterminated” ), as a people in the world, for the pestilent scourge of “roaches” we’ve allowed ourselves, our children, and our governments and industries to become...

Honor has no boundaries between men or women. But respectable, as in, “What would any respectable woman do?", or “What would any respectable man do?" could get complicated. However, I see it as “What would any respectable person do?" What defines that? See GQ’s post above. It has something to do with morals or something. lol

First of all- I enjoy reading your posts smiley

I think to honour someone comes down to respect, respect that one has earnt by their decisions and actions which are based on good moral .

I think the value of being honourable is self explanatory wink
