I am a pretty random person. I also tried to fit this in my signature, but it won’t fit:
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It took me forever to do.
So anyways, I like video games a lot. I think this site is an awesome place, and I thank Bjarne Lundgren for making it. Also, I thank him for using my idea of turning down the time between posts for registered users (was 30 seconds, is now 20. You’re welcome folks).
I’ve finally gone past the legendary 5,000 post mark! I was also the 16,086th person to join MovieCodec. The last person to join this site before me was dan73ro, and right after me was h.t.smits.
Updated status: As of right now on May 8th, 2009, I now moderate Off-Topic and On-Topic. So if you fuck up then you’re fucked, fucker.

The PS3 will definitely lose. It comes out a year later and all the graphics on the trailers Sony has shown (like Killzone 2) are fake. The Revolution (actually the final name will be the Wii) will be in second place. Sony will lose because they suck ass in the next generation. Nintendo ruled in the first ten, Sony in the second ten, and Microsoft will in the next ten! FUCK ALL YOU BITCHES WHO THINK SONY WILL DOMINATE IN THE NEXT FUCKING ROUND! THEY WON’T BECAUSE THEY ARE SHIT!
If you like reading lots of text then this is for you, as I’m giving my personal history of gaming. Yes, there is lots of text.
It all started when I was 3 years old. Our family had a computer with about 512 kb- 1 MB of RAM, a 256 MB hard drive, a Sound Blaster card (don’t know which) and a CD-ROM! That was good for computers back in the day. The game I played mostly? The Wolfenstein 3D Shareware version. I played it so much I memorized where everything was on all four difficulties. There were some math and spelling games here and there as well.
Gaming outside of my house consisted of playing my cousins' Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Donkey Kong Country was a favorite there, and at the age of 7 I managed to complete the entire game without losing a single life, which is no simple task. This was helped by the fact that I would often do a sleepover there and I’d play with my two cousins for hours on end. Times were great.
Little did I know times would get even better. It was the holiday season of 1997 and I wished for a gaming system of my own. I knew that a 3D system was on the market called the PlayStation. Looking through a Toys R Us magazine I spotted one and circled it. However, I would not receive one because of one little mistake. I also asked for Diddy Kong Racing game which I mistook for a board game. It was actually for the Nintendo 64, and to my surprise I woke up and opened a present to find the game along with NFL Quarterback Club '98, the console, and two controllers. That’s when I knew I would be gaming for many years to come.
Over the next few years my game collection grew from two games to eight. My games:
— Mario Kart 64
— Banjo-Kazooie
— F-1 World Grand Prix
— Ridge Racer 64
— Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
— Banjo-Tooie
Not the biggest collection, but those games were all fun and I enjoyed countless hours on them, not to mention many more at friends and cousins' houses and such. And my games collection was about to get bigger.
As a N64 owner I closely followed any news regarding Nintendo. And in 2001 the big news came: They were releasing a new console! Yep, the GameCube was set to launch in November of 2001. I knew I wouldn’t be getting one until maybe January (my birthday), and sure enough when the day came I opened a box to find... an Xbox?
Yes folks, an Xbox. I was stunned that I got a new console, but upset it wasn’t a GameCube. That would turn around quickly. My 13 games:
— Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee
— Halo: Combat Evolved (couldn’t see that one coming, could ya?)
— Project Gotham Racing
— Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War
— Hunter: The Reckoning
— Blinx the Time Sweeper
— Tetris: Worlds
— Namco Museum
— Call of Duty: Finest Hour
— Halo 2 (one of my favorite days ever)
— Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
— Fuzion Frenzy
— Project Gotham Racing 2
I won’t say I like all these games, because Hunter sucks, Fuzion Frenzy sucks, Blinx sucks, Tetris and Namco Museum got boring quickly, and the Call of Duty games weren’t high on my playing list. Halo obviously took up most of my time, but the Project Gothams, Wolfenstein, and Oddworld were commonly in my system. Thankfully some N64 games made their way into my collection bringing my total to 13 on that system as well:
— Goldeneye 007
— Super Smash Bros
— Beetle Adventure Racing
— The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
— Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
Now those are some great games (minus Castlevania). I’m still on the lookout for Super Mario 64, LoZ: Majora’s Mask, and Perfect Dark.
So what have we learned? I like to play games, and times are good. Times can change though, and they did for the worse.
Besides how huge the console was, the Xbox was not known for having hardware issues. It would run fine, people loved putting music on the hard drive, and the online connections were solid for the most part. However, sometime in '05 people were starting to note a problem with their power cords. Occasionally they would start fires or at least become unusable. Eventually Microsoft ordered a recall to anyone who experienced this. On my unlucky day in early 2007 I was listening to some Nirvana and suddenly the console just shut down. After examining it for a few minutes I guessed my power cord had died on me. I called MS and they sent me a free replacement (yeah, bitches!). I plugged it in hoping to hear it roar to life... and got nothing. Turns out both cords were fine and it was something in the console itself that busted. Shit, I had 13 useless games, 4 useless controllers, a useless memory card, and a useless DVD playback set. Too bad there was no recall for a free console.
You see above where I mentioned times can change? Well, they did again. No my N64 didn’t crap out on me (although I stupidly lost a controller to the fishing minigame in Ocarina of Time). Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console had been around for nearly two years and being an Xbox owner I wanted one. I was skeptical though, as $449 for an Elite model is not cheap. Would fortune shine on Christmas day again? You bet. My Xbox games weren’t useless anymore! And now I get to have new games! My collection is still small though:
— Forza Motorsport 2
— Marvel Ultimate Alliance
— The Golden Compass
— Halo 3
— Bioshock
— Call of Duty 4
Why my dad decided to get the Golden Compass is beyond me. I haven’t touched it, and after seeing it played by him and my sisters I don’t plan to. Not even for achievements. I’m not fond of Marvel either. On the other hand, Forza, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty 4, and of course Halo 3 are all games I play regularly. I’m also not anticipating a Red Ring of Death to hit me. Sorry if your console did. Now if only MS would make Xbox Live free...
