Ill-be-damned. All this time I thought I was working out for a reason.
Goals of a bodybuilder: To develop a lot of muscle mass and symmetry, emphasize on gaining and developing muscle groups rather than strengthening, have as low bodyfat as possible. To know how to pose properly on stage in a G-string. Drop your bodyfat, work on those extra muscle groups and wear a G-string, then you are a real bodybuilder.
Edit: I also understand that you somewhat emphasize strength and muscular endurance over looks, if you did emphasize more looks, you would lay off the alcohol
lol. You can build on your body muscle and symmetry without wearing a g-string and entering competitions. Thus, bodybuilding.
Wait so I was once a bodybuilder?!
Wait so REALITY wears a g-string?!
Yes. Yes he does.

Yes, yes it does.
And not that I care but how am I more of a fake then you are? I mean if I sat on the couch and said “I am a bodybuilder” then yes I would be a fake/liar. But I workout, take care of myself, count calories and I am easily more knowledgeable on the human body and fitness then you are on any two subjects put together.
Are you making big bucks playing star craft? I don’t think so, so before you become more hypocritical and cause more stupidity to this site then you already have.. why don’t you use your brain instead of just opening your mouth? , lol.. “I am 20 years old and play starcraft but I am not a nerd”

Why does it matter what people do in their spare time, really? I only casually play video games and somtimes work out, but I just wish everyone could shut the fuck up and stop trying to make themselves feel better by comparing how macho/intellectual they are to someone else. I mean, fuck, if poeple genuinely think they’re so great why do they need to rave on about it all the time?
Xtrm, King John, Reality, Firewolf etc. you guys know who you are...

Is this an attack? a question? or a statement?
Either way dude, half the reason I started bodybuilding was because I was insecure about my body and was brought up in fitness at an early age. I could care less if anyone on this site, on the internet or offline thought I wasn’t something I am. Cause either way.. it really doesn’t matter.
The people rave about how great they are , are either a) looking for acceptance or attention b) party insecure or c) just messing around.
And what people do in their spare time says a lot about their character. It doesn’t define the person, no I am being vague on that because it is funny. But if you look at one dude who works out and is trying to better himself in his spare time and another dude who plays video games to kill other space ships in his spare time.. who is more gut fully seemed as estimable?

It was a statement really, although it probably came off as more of an attack than I intended.

I wasn’t implying you’re faking anything, just that people going on all the about how great they are is a pain in the ass really.

What I said wasn’t necessarily aimed at people who claim to be strong anymore than it was geared at people who think they’re superior because they like Shakespeare, or claim to have a big dick, or have lots of money or belong to a certain race etc. etc. Sure, I can understand if hates an activity or a hobby why they insult the activity or hobby but people who think they’re overall better than everyone else just because they’re good at or enjoy a certain thing are dickwads. This doesn’t apply to people who are joking around, but the ones who do it for the first two reasons you said (wanting attention or being insecure) do have some problems with self esteem. It’s more annoying than anything else.
As for comparing someone who wants to improve their body as to people who just want to relax and enjoy themselves, it’s really a matter of priority. Some people who play video games a lot try hard in a lot of other areas like school or work and in their leisure time just want to relax. They might not want to strive to improve their fitness in their spare time, not because they don’t think they can handle it, but because they don’t really think it’s worth it. It’s often a matter of priority not confidence, but this doesn’t apply to everyone of course.

Again, I am not sure the point you are trying to make.
I have got ” People should not be judged on what they do” I am finding it difficult to put to words on how you are supposed to define characteristics then?
If a hobby I pursued was to torture animals or rape children, would I be morbidly excepted as “I had a hard days of work, its nice to come home and tear a leg or two off a kitten or rape a 5 year old.“ Is this okay? No its not.
We are animals, our genetics from the day we existed have revolutionized into us being superior apes. Physical strength is the most important thing in life, it determines the quality and quantity of life we have on the earth while placed in these bodies. It is a state of principal that a man who is a doctorate in science will have a more enjoyable life when his bench or squat weight goes up.
It’s plausible to assume that after a 14 hour work shift that you are exhausted and the last thing on your mind would be to stand under a barbell. That is human nature, it is part of the survival technique we have inbreeded into us.
Vaguely speaking on terms that will most likely push buttons on most of the users here. The man who is working hard in the gym after a days work to better himself and his quality of life IS IN FACT more accepted then the man who after a hard days work sits on his ass and watches TV or goes on the computer. Just so as it is with teenagers. Laziness is deemed upon as week, which is why the average teenager on this site may they be a male or female will not achieve a more successful and rewarding life then one of the same nature who goes out socializes and better’s himself.
This stabilizes the mentality that people with hobbies revolving around sitting on the computer talking about anime or playing video games for long hours are in fact inadequate in terms that they appear to have no drive in anything but resting. Thus they are deemed as weaker animals then those such as gym rats who live for dominance and superiority.
To have a gamer come into the sports section and insult my life style that he couldn’t even comprehend is completely irrational and stupid. He was blasting that I am a “wannabe” as I am inferior in his mind as I don’t reach a certain standard for acceptance. Just as he is inferior in my mind as he reaches the standard to be neglected on how he rationalizes hypocritical ism in the fullest form.
Is it likely I am being irrational by putting a person I have no knowledge of into a group by one hobby he pursues? Yes it is. Should I of typed “lol” and neglect the hostility and play it off as “I don’t care." No, What does that accomplish and why is it that this thread was created?
You guys are awesome with a keyboard 8D Especially Shaun of the Living, it’s such a shame keyboard warriors don’t leave their dungeons to attack you in public. They are very, very stealthy creatures.
