You want a good workout? Wrestle/grapple with a buddy! I am soo sore today from wrestling around last night. I used muscles that you can’t really target in a gym using machines or weight training. But damn, I still have a helluva takedown offense. You can’t touch my takedowns. Man, I am like the guillotine and triangle master. I should get into MMA. lol
Yeah, if you punch air AKA shadowbox, you will feel a big burn in your entire back muscles especially if you don’t do it frequently. Simply shooting in for a takedown takes a bit out of the quads to do it, it’s like a very low explosive squat, to perform a double leg or a single leg takedown would make use of the back and biceps so yes, it is a full body workout especially with the positions you have to get into.
Haha Dude, my buddy just called and said he had to take work off today because he’s too sore. He can’t even slightly move his neck. He’s like, “I know we were playing around but you fucked me up! I can’t move!" Hahaha
Well if you were to take me down, the force of the drop your bodyweight would be pretty painful. We practice wrestling on the grass, really need to get some training mats.
This guy is no push-over. He’s a 6'-1” 220 pounder. He’s a pretty big boy and has 15 pounds on me. But man, I was taking him down with ease. Some takedowns involved me quickly ducking down in, lifting him up, rotating him sideways and slamming down on him which put me in the side mount. It surprised me because I didn’t think I was that strong. He couldn’t see it coming either. He’s like damn your fast! Others were flipping him over my back and simple trip with the legs, simple judo stuff. And he kept going getting into choke positions. Either I’m really good or he really sucks. I’d like to get into a Brazilian Jujitsu gym and see just where my skill level is at on a competing level. Just to see.

When you go in for a single or double leg, you should get him into a sidemount, it would be a failed attempted if you got him into the guard. Also if done correctly, it really doesn’t take much strength to lift a man off the ground and slam him, you are rushing in toward’s the other guy’s hip with your shoulder, grabbing slightly above the knee, pushing your shoulders and pulling his knees simultaneously and bam you got it.

I just got back from karate.
One of the guys there I known for a while told me I am putting on a belly.
That is until I lifted up my shirt.
Can someone explain why your stomach bulges out a little bit more than usual when you are still on the bulking phase? I only just started maintaining weight to gain lean mass/burn fat then before the fight I will dehydrate during the last week to make weight.
Mine sticks out when I up my protein intake.. I’m not sure why...

Yeah, personally I don’t like performing take downs at all, because you will have to tuck your arms by your side when you step in for the drop step, leaving you wide open, the only time you should rush in is when your opponent already threw a kick.

Yeah but that was anticipated. He went for Four takedowns consecutively. You need to mix it up a little and not be soo predictable.

damn noone been on this shit in forever u=ive gained some muscle mass off them pills i go to the doctor tommorow ill post my bf weight n all that shit been workin and hittin them weights my bench went up from 135 2 times to 135 9 times in like 2 weeks
X2 Agreed
That is unless he put on weight to overcome that plateau. I very highly doubt he made that big of a difference. Man I know he been training for a while but he is obviously overtraining if he isn’t making any gains and if he is only benching 135lbs. I probably only flat benchpress once or twice a month and I could hit off more reps than that with 135, every strength day I switch up the routine. If you are doing this every week and no improvement then you are just hitting in the dark, maybe your form needs to be in check before doing anything else. Meaning you aren’t training right.
