USA Beats Number 1 Spain

In 1980 Winter Olympics one of the greatest upsets ever happened. The USA rookie hockey team beat the USSR hockey team and went on to win gold. It was deemed a miracle.

Well how about another one of them miracles. In the confederations cup semifinal game, USA soccer team has beaten the powerhouse #1 Spanish team 2-0.

They had a 35 game win streak, only one away from a record. I mean this is a miracle and I expect a movie about it in 5 years haha. Any thoughts? Just a huge upset and a big win for American soccer.

No need to get defensive about it. I’m sure if they had played 100 games, Spain would have won 99 of them. But it was that 1/100 scenario which is why it is an upset and a miracle. Same with the hockey team in 1980 Winter Olympics. No reason to piss and moan so much about it... even the Americans know it was a miracle. Doesn’t mean we don’t have bragging rights so piss off.

In soccer they are. They had a 35 game win streak in that tournament and we ended it. One away from the record and we stopped it. They are a powerhouse when it comes to soccer.

Yeah was a massive upset however I think Spain showed no respect, totally underestimated USA.
