Who's better: Yao Ming or Dwight Howard?

I’m going to argue for Yao but I want to hear what you guys say first. Anyone who says Dwight is obviously better only relies on statistics but I can easily prove you wrong.

Yao’s better offensively and if it’s the end of the game and you need a score I’d rather have Yao at Center, but defensively Howard is a better rebounder and shot blocker, so it depends on what you prefer. Although head to head Yao has owned Howard.

I agree. Also, Yao has the ability to draw defenders to him. So if you really need to make a shot, I’d throw the ball to him and make most of the defenders go into the paint. This way he can pass it out to guys on the perimeter who are open for the shot. Howard needs to work on his offense. As good as he is on defense, his team has not been incredible defensively lately so Howard needs to put MORE effort into his defensive work (even though theyre ranked 3rd in D). A huge reason why the rockets are doing well defensively is because of yao. im not saying that yao’s numbers are great compared to howard’s defensively but theyre definitely good. He owns in 1 on 1 matchupes and his presence forces opponents to take outside shots which decreases FG percentage for the team. The fact that battier and scola on the team are huge too but everything has to start with the big man. lets just hope they get past the second round although im also rooting for the magic since im a huge howard fan and am REALLY pissed that alston got traded to the magic. brooks is a good replacement though..so no worries. i wish adelman played landry more though. hes my favorite player on the team right now even though he gets barely any minutes. best LANDRY moment:
