The battle should start out off with Snake far away enough to be able to hide but it should be close enough for MC to see the general area in which he is going in to to hide. That way it’s fair. Snake is hidden mut MC knows to some degree where he is. ---

Yeah, the storyline can be considered canon, but when there’s this much inconsistency, it can hardly be considered canon.
