SOAD and korn are a kick ass bands and ive never even heard of rage... System’s music went way down hill though with there new albums hypnotise and mezmerize i only like a few songs all the rest suck..i think they have finally finished themselves off for now so a break should be good for them. listen to there old albums like toxicity and there first one they are fucking sweet. well there my little bit.

i agree with d.v.a.d. Korn does not seem to be getting the respect they deserve. They are the grandfathers of nu metal, and even if you do not like nu metal, you have to respect any band that can almost single-handedly create a new genre of music. Also, SOAD is a great band, and are technically more talented, but their songs are either political (anti-bush) or just plain random. not really any emotion in their music. i love both bands, but my heart goes to korn. also, for the information of Aaron McKay, it was the guitarist Brian “Head” Welch who left the band because of his newfound Christianity, not the bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu. To sum it all up, Korn is a great and very influential band, who may not be as great as in the past, but is still a very good band, and is in my opinion better than SOAD.

also, it was Korn and Limp Bizkit to an extent that created nu metal. Rap metal was already prevalant, but rap metal and nu metal are not the same thing. Nu metal seems to be heavily influenced by rap metal, but nu metal, and even the actually term, was created in the mid-90’s. Nu metal could not exist, though, without Run DMC and Aerosmith’s collaboration, and that of Anthrax and Public Enemy. A great example of a rap metal band is Rage Against the Machine, who rock. Would anyone classify RATM as nu metal? i thought not.

but SOAD is still good, and they did co - headline ozzfest this year with disturbed.
