Ps2 Emulatoin help

Hello exeryone i have downloaded some ps2 emulators (PCSX2 and NSX2) and none of them work with my games. Basically i just wanna play god of war (and some others but they come second) on my computer. If anyone knows anyway to make it wrok please share. Also my friend said that his friend got him a rom of god of war and the game worked fine in an emualtor and his computer is running basically the same specs as mine (amd Athlon xp 2.2 ghz, ati radeon 9800 pro 256 mb ram, 1gb of ram). If anyone knows how to make this work please reply.
