where are you getting this info? obviously not a very knowledgable source.

Rap has real life issues you redneck. And you never see rockers getting shot like 50cent and 2pac because they are pussies. 50cent got shot like nine times and hes not dead yet.

First of all,I DID NOT repeat my comment!!!!!!!!!!!
Second,I’d like to hear from other blacks who like
heavy metal and/or Country and believe rap only pan-
ders to the worst racist stereotypes about us.
Oh,yes,sometimes I wear cowboy boots,and I CAN’T
WAIT to hear a heavy metal group of black dudes!!!!

I’m a white boy who grew up in the sticks with mostly black folks (Cary, NC, USA). I like country, rock, hiphop, techno, jazz and alot of other musics. some rap does just further ignorant stereotypes, but so does some of country (how bout David Allen Coe!), and at the same time alot or rap elevates peoples of all colors and creeds. who feels it, knows it. one love.

Holy shit, deathspartan...that has got to be one of the most idiotic and retarded comments in this thread yet... And 50 cent one of the least gifted people in the entire music industry.

Well Mainstream rap sucks and so does mainstream rock. Underground anything usually is more lyrical and experamental as well as just being something fresh and new, but if you don’t like rap and are going to the top 40’s to show how stupid rap is well then that’s like me getting Reliant K, Ashlee Simpson, ect and trying to show how stupid rock is as well. I mean honestly if your trying to prove another genre is bad go and listen to the best rappers and go listen to some good rock bands and then post your comments. Don’t go listen to 50 cent expecting groundbreaking lyrics or go to My Chemical Romance expecting rock that moved generations like other rock bands havedone in the past. Go do your research before you post a comment

Yeah,I know some Country panders to racism and xeno-
phobia,especially since Sept.11,2001(Daryl Worley,
Charlie Daniels,Toby Keith,Clint Black,etc.)But
quite a lot of '80’s and '90’s rap heightened ten-
sions between blacks and other groups in U.S.cities
(Public Enemy,NWA,Busta Rhymes,et al.)Besides,at
least rock and Country don’t have songs idealizing
fat broads(“Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot!!!!!!)

Ok,so you are actually trying to tell the world that ROCKERS are some of the more intelligent people on this planet?wow....I would tend to think that people who have a craft that generates mONEY to pay those big bills and keep the music industry going would be 'smarter'.Let’s talk about all those old as-,downtrodden,drugged out, forgotten, and BrOKE 'musicians',who cannot even pay their rent or take care of their bills/families.Sampling helped many of them(like ACDC) make some MONEY to pay for their fogotten careers and the god-like icons you claim they are...lol.No,I am not singling out ACDC,because they are cool, yet you can get my drift(I guess).I listen to and play all typesd of music,as long as it’s good, and makes me feel happy. There are all kinds of ways to make music,if you really know what you’re talking about.

The whole point is,if you don’t like rap or hiphop, who cares.Intelligent people do not have time to knock and hate on what the next man does.Besides, the fact is,if someone has that much money, talent, and vision, why are THEY not making music, money, and the kind of ICON they claim to cherish???Looks really bad to be broke, with no real music career, and hating on the next man/woman.

Rock isnt for everyone. Rap isnt either. In fact i rather like it that way. To each his own i say. Or Else we may just end up with Korn. Anyway u listen to what u like.

However, this does nothing to change the fact that the majority of rap out there is cheap shallow lyrics on top of a stale-ass beat.Shake yo' booty mama. Yeah.Uhuh. Its just ridiculous. Then you have these 'artists' who are either criminals or portray themselves as such. Gangbangers.Thugs. But thats reall cool u see. As far as im concerned, with a few exceptions, its all about the image. The Cars. The Clothes. The Bitches.Shooting somebody. Yeah...reall cool.
Then you have Rock. Broad category i know. theres some stuff id never listen to. But anyway, has anyone out there ever listened to G n’R? Led Zep?
The Scorpions? Savatage? Skid row? U2? Poetry man. Poetry.Do you know the kind of skill and soul it takes to pour your heart out on a guitar? To just let it fly? The kind of technical expertise it takes just to be moderately good? Man oh man just look at Jimi hendrix. The guy is a legend. As far as im concerned this is what good music is. Have u ever noticed how rockers prefer to live and let live but the rap fans are always the first to be insulting? its the culture its built around. As you can see from the postings here, there hasnt been one intelligent Pro-Rap comment. Its always kiss my ass, or suck my dick. Or i’ll fuck you up. Whoa. Clever. Lets see if that can be changed. Im
not holding my breath however.

well, I’ve made “pro-rap” posts (pro all music, actually). I thought they were intelligent, but mabye I’m too stupid to realize that they were stupid. whatever the case, those who are mainly into rock connect with it in a deep way, and think that rockers have so much soul and depth and meaning (more than everyone else). the thing is, people who are into hiphop feel the same kind of deep emotional connection with rappers. they would say that rappers pour their soul into the mixing board or sampler or mic or whatever. and I might say, people of all kinds of music would say that. there is a country song that talks about how a guy thought that honky tonk was all about goofy cowboys and whatever, but finally went to a concert and learned that “they’re just songs about me”. the connection is just as real and meaningful, no matter what music you dig. that’s the beauty of music...it transcends all boundries and communicates with the true self. that’s why I’m so adamant about letting people be to listen to what they like, because from somebody else view, the music you like is “just noise” or just “40’s and bitches” or just “a bunch’a rednecks hollerin bout livin in a trailer” or “squeeks and pops at 120 bpm” or whatever. its all good music to somebody. who feels it, knows it. one love.

Ok a lot of you rockers are saying that rock lyrics is poetry and takes intelligence to write, while rap is vulgar and stupid. I won’t say that rap isen’t vulgar, but rap isen’t just shake yo ass and I shot this person. There is also Brenda’s got a baby, I used to love H.E.R.,Lift your head up. There are rappers like Public Enemy, Common, even 2Pac had some really good songs.Like my comment before don’t just trash on rap without seeing that just like rock, rap is very broad.

and your getting that contry is the most popular format on the radio..how? :S

Lions in the street and roaming
Dogs in heat, rabid, foaming
A beast caged in the heart of a city
The body of his mother
Rotting in the summer ground
He fled the town

He went down South and crossed the border
Left chaos and disorder
Back there over his shoulder

One morning he awoke in a green hotel
With a strange creature groaning beside him
Sweat oozed from its shining skin
is everybody in?
is everybody in?
is everybody in?
the ceremony is about to begin

Wake up!
You can’t remember where it was
Had this dream stopped?

The snake was pale gold
Glazed and shrunken
We were afraid to touch it
The sheets were hot dead prisms
And she was beside me
Old, she’s no, young
Her dark red hair
the white soft skin

Now, run to the mirror in the bathroom
Look!
shes coming in here
I can’t live thru each slow century of her moving
I let my cheek slide down
The cool smooth tile
Feel the good cold stinging blood
The smooth hissing snakes of rain . . .

Once I had, a little game
I liked to crawl, back in my brain
I think you know, the game I mean
I mean the game, called 'go insane'

you should try, this little game
Just close your eyes, forget your name
Forget the world, forget the people
And we’ll erect, a different steeple

This little game, is fun to do
Just close your eyes, no way to lose
And I’m right there, I’m going too
Release control, we’re breaking thru

Way back deep into the brain
Back where there’s never any pain
And the rain falls gently on the town
And over the heads of all of us
And in the labyrinth of streams
Beneath, the quiet unearthly presence of
gentle hill dwellers, in the gentle hills around
Reptiles abounding
Fossils, caves, cool air heights

Each house repeats a mold
Windows rolled
Beast car locked in against morning
All now sleeping
Rugs silent, mirrors vacant
Dust blind under the beds of lawful couples
Wound in sheets
And daughters, smug
With semen eyes in their nipples

Wait
There’s been a slaughter here

(Don’t stop to speak or look around
Your gloves and fan are on the ground
We’re getting out of town
We’re going on the run
And you’re the one I want to come)

Not to touch the earth
Not to see the sun
Nothing left to do, but
Run, run, run
Let’s run
lets run

House upon the hill
Moon is lying still
Shadows of the trees
Witnessing the wild breeze
C’mon baby run with me
Let’s run

Run with me
Run with me
Run with me
Let’s run

Dead president’s corpse in the driver’s car
The engine runs on glue and tar
C’mon along, we’re not going very far
To the East to meet the Czar

The mansion is warm, at the top of the hill
Rich are the rooms and the comforts there
Red are the arms of luxuriant chairs
And you won’t know a thing till you get inside

run with me
run with me
run with me
let’s run

Some outlaws lived by the side of the lake
The minister’s daughter’s in love with the snake
Who lives in a well by the side of the road
Wake up, girl! We’re almost home

We should see the gates by mornin'
We should be inside by evening,

sun sun sun
burn burn burn
burn, burn, burn,
i will get you

i am the lizard king
i can do anything

We came down
The rivers and highways
We came down from
Forests and falls

We came down from
Carson and Springfield
We came down from
Phoenix enthralled
And I can tell you
The names of the Kingdom
I can tell you
The things that you know
Listening for a fistful of silence
Climbing valleys into the shade

for seven years, i dwelt
in the loose palace of exile
playing strange games with the girls of the island
now, i have come again
to the land of the fair, and the strong, and the wise
brothers and sisters of the pale forest
children of night
who among you will run with the hunt?
now night arives with her purple legion
Retire now to your tents and to your dreams
Tomorrow we enter the town of my birth
I want to be ready'
