Scott Guest | Question. How many people think that the movie “How High” with Meth and Redman was racist garbage? Imagine the reverse of that shit:
Two 'cool' racist ass skinheads move into a black neighborhood. All pickin at black people and culture constantly.
Their next-door neighbor’s a biglipped fried chicken eatin', shuckin and jivin black stereotype, who’s trying to get the community board to evict them. While his 12-year-old son openly admires the fascist white duo.
Wouldn’t fly too well, would it? Those of you that wanna argue about this, just don’t give me a damn thing about slavery unless YOU lived through it. Which many of these young kids didn’t. Poverty is a modern day problem, but all types of races are poor, nowadays.
Something that happened to your ancestors 200 years ago doesn’t give YOU the right to INDISCRIMINATELY talk shit about any unrelated white people TODAY, unless you wanna let us do the same thing. It’s petty double standard crap. Grow up. You ain’t helping. Only stirring resentment. I agree police are racist often. Right on the mark. However, many of them get into it more because of a “badass” complex than wanting to “uphold the law”. Just because some police forces and lone nuts are racist, I don’t think the whole system is. Anti-lower class maybe, but poor vs rich does not equal black vs white. And the thugs, pimps, dealers and gangbangers are EQUALLY as bad, as far as holding back those ghettos and black neighborhoods, as those racist police they like to complain about. They have a choice. Everyone does, and many other black people come from the same neighborhoods and go more of a positive route. It’s a bullshit copout.

Seriously, there is plenty of movies that have little racist jokes in them, why? Becasue it’s a satire stunt, and satire will touch on all little things, including race. Quit complainging about it and just laugh; it shows that you’re not scared of what people will think of you and shows that you reallly are open to comedy. --- I’m here to teach all the boys and girls the gift of logic.

EvaUnit001 Guest | its just a matter of fact that there are cultural differences between the races...they are all cultural not genetic...but dont underestimate the power of culture. so when the black culture makes a “black” movie like how high, I’m not bothered (I’m a white dude, btw). I think its the same thing as when the white culture makes a “white” movie like forest gump or whatever. and you notice that redman and methodman end up accepting the two main white dudes in the movie (the hall monitor dude and the roomate) and the asian wannabe, and the black professor is the one who is out to get them.
what is sad is that if a white dude accepts and embraces black culture he is called a “wigger” or worse a “nigger lover” (i know it is offensive, but growing up white in NC, and accepting black culture as just as valid as every other culture, I been called that more that once). and when a black dude accepts white culture he is called a “sellout” and “uncle tom”.
by such actions we only perpetrate the lie that there is some deep racial gulf between everybody, when the truth is that we all come from the original man, and we all return to the dust were we came from. we should learn to accept each other, and judge each person individually, by their own merits...and yet still respect the different cultures each of us come from.
that might be just a dream that will never happen. but its a dream worth havning. martin luther king had that dream, and they killed him for it. lets continue the dream in our own time. one love.
