I’m not the biggest rap fun, but be that as it may my friend listens to rap. I don’t like it particularly (sp) but I tollerate it. Any time there’s a song he wants me to listen to I do.

I actually don’t think people should classify music genres that they “like," but rather what they listen to most. I mostly listen to hard rock, thrash metal, rockabilly, and swing. I don’t listen to rap a lot, but I don’t like to say I hate rap because if there comes along even one rap song I do like I’d sound like a prick.

The bottom line,
Hip HoP allows for greater lyrical creativity and Rock allows for greater musical expression and variance. You don’t need to refer to pidgeon-hole stereotypes that you think other people percieve you to be either, that engenders the same single minded, tunnel vision, live in a hole mindset that spawned this debate in the first place.
