That’s about it. Something happened after WWII. America stopped using the tried-and-true “pulverize the enemy until they captitulate” technique. Instead we’ve been playing patty-cakes with our enemies for the last 60 years. It doesn’t work.
I think we should use our $400 billion a year military and kick the shit out of our enemies from the air. Then, AFTER they all get the clue that every IED they set is going to earn them certain explosive death from a B-52, only then should we put boots on the ground to mop up.
