First off, I want to thank Deathspartan for answering that question. But the correct response to that question is:
Yes, back in those times maybe people didn’t tithe because they didn’t run on the same system as we run on now. Back in the times when Jesus walked the earth people, instead of tithing, gave sacrificial offerings, and they were commanded by GOD to sacrifice the best of their flock. If you sacrificed a lamb he wanted you to sacrifice the best. He didn’t want the lamb with three legs, one ear missing, and blind. Because he deserves the best.
The first children of man (Cain and Abel) offered sacrifices to God. The Bible says, God did not respect (regard) the offering of Cain, but that of Abel he did. We are not told how Cain selected the items for his offering or his intention, but evidently he did not do well. He would have selected the 'firstlings of his flock and fat thereof' as Abel did. (Genesis 4:4). This sound very much like Abel said “God should have the first and the Best'' we can infer that God had ''respect'' for Abel’s offering because he placed God first. He understood the source of his blessing. Now as for tithe. It is required of you, by GOD, to tithe. Now, if you disobey GOD and you don’t tithe as he commands, don’t think that everythings going to be all peaches and cream. GOD isn’t going to feel sorry for you. GOD’s going to say okay if he/she doesn’t want to give it to me. Then, I’ll allow this to happen: speeding ticket, increase in bills, loss of job, loss of income, loss of financial assistance, or all of a sudden your car breaks down and needs repair. Why not? Why not obey the orders of GOD’s word, and receive the many blessings that he has in store for us. Than to disobey. I’m not going to say it’s sin, because I’m not sure. But I do know this, every man will have his day of judgement and there GOD will just you according to your works here on earth. He will show you if you lived for him or if you lived for yourself. The definition of sin, compliments of dictionary.com: Sin is “any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God” (1 John 3:4;
Rom. 4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward
conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom. 6:12-17; 7:5-24).
It is “not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system
of things, but an offence against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who
vindicates his law with penalties. The soul that sins is always conscious that
his sin is (1) intrinsically vile and polluting, and (2) that it justly
deserves punishment, and calls down the righteous wrath of God. Hence sin
carries with it two inalienable characters, (1) ill-desert, guilt (reatus); and
(2) pollution (macula)."
LEVITICUS 27:30 NKJ
30 `And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord.
Tithe is a tenth of the produce of the earth consecrated and set apart for special
purposes. The dedication of a tenth to God was recognized as a duty before the
time of Moses. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Gen. 14:20; Heb. 7:6); and
Jacob vowed unto the Lord and said, “Of all that thou shalt give me I will
surely give the tenth unto thee." The first Mosaic law on this subject is
recorded in Lev. 27:30-32. Subsequent legislation regulated the destination of
the tithes (Num. 18:21-24, 26-28; Deut. 12:5, 6, 11, 17; 14:22, 23). The paying
of the tithes was an important part of the Jewish religious worship. In the days
of Hezekiah one of the first results of the reformation of religion was the
eagerness with which the people brought in their tithes (2 Chr. 31:5, 6). The
neglect of this duty was sternly rebuked by the prophets (Amos 4:4; Mal.
3:8-10).

First I Just want to give honor, glory, and praise to GOD for allowing me to spread the word of GOD to souls who are lost. I also wanted to answer a few questions and make few comments.
Comment #1: It upsets my spirit to hear and/or to read people say that they are Christian but, in reality they are filled with demons. For example, people who curse, people who smoke, people who drink alcohol, people who fornicate, people who commit adultery, people who steal, people who lie, etc. When you become a true Christian, a born again believer. You are washed clean with the blood of Christ (meaning spiritually) and then GOD sends the Holy Spirit, which resides within us. Let me say it again because maybe somebody didn’t “read” me correctly. I said the HOLY SPIRIT, which is GOD, resides/lives/stays/is within us. The Bible says,
“Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears." Acts 20:28-31
Justified by His blood
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation." Romans 5:8-11
“These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. You can’t be both. If you curse and you say you are of Christ, then you are also a liar. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we are not led to do things that are unrighteous, unholy, or unclean. If you say you are Christian and you smoke, drink alcohol, whatever, it’s not right. The BIBLE says that we are temples of the HOLY SPIRIT:
John 2:18
Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:6-7
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. " 1 John 1:9
Many of you may get upset. Many of you may mock me. I already know that because the BIBLE warns me.
Wherever the word is spoken, the devil is also present to do his destructive work. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). In Mark 4:15 he warned, “Some people are like seed along the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.” Why is Satan able to take the word away? Because these people do not treasure it. They are careless; thus, they do not discipline their minds to study and understand the word. Even as the word is being preached in the church, the devil is there to steal it from our hearts because he knows that if we add faith to it, we will be healed, saved and strengthened.
Faith comes by hearing the word; thus, the devil will do everything he can to oppose the proclamation of God’s word. In Genesis 2 God told Eve, “For when you eat of it, you will surely die.” But the devil contradicted God’s word, telling Eve, “You will not surely die.” Satan opposes God’s word, and he has many ruses to keep us from receiving it. When the word is being preached, he may cause us to become drowsy or distracted or daydream. He may cause us to disrespect the person preaching the word and criticize his/her appearance and delivery; where there is no respect, there will be no reception and no refreshment.
There is a real war going on whenever the word of God is preached, and the enemy of our souls will oppose us in many ways. But the Bible tells us, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). How do we resist? By disciplining our minds to listen carefully, by countering Satan’s lies with truth, by believing and eating God’s word voraciously, and by eagerly obeying it. We must not let the word of God fall to the ground.
The only difference between myself and some of the others is that I have the Mighty WORD OF GOD to back up what I am saying. And nothing can go against the word of GOD becuase “surely it shall be destroyed." I encourage you, brother, sister, sinner to read the word of GOD for yourself. GOD will reveal awesome things to you. If you are not saved I urge you to do so. Because Jesus is on his way for the church and I pray that you are not left behind.
The Bible tells us that we must be “born again” (John 3:3). Being “saved” and “born again” are the same thing. It means that you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior and that you believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and was resurrected (1st Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 10:9, Romans 5:8). You must also confess and repent of your sins (1st John 1:9, Luke 13:3).
There is only ONE way to heaven and that’s through Jesus. He says “I am the door” (John 10:9) and that no one gets to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
The Lord is knocking on the door of your heart and it’s up to you to let him in (Revelation 3:20).
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" Mark 8:36
For God so loved the world, that he gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) How can you show more love than giving your very life for someone else’s life? You can’t. What is more amazing is that Jesus died for us WHEN WE WERE HIS ENEMIES! I mean vile, wicked, pitiful, wretched, unclean, unholy, ungodly, prideful, spiritually leperous.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
...Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6)
Read the Bible for yourself. While reading the scriptures ask the Lord to guide you through them and teach you what you need to be taught. It’s fine to listen to preachers but you MUST also read the scriptures for yourself especially nowadays that so many false prophets are out trying to distort God’s Word (Matthew 24:11, Mark 13:22, 2nd Peter 2:1-3).
The Word is your sword! (Ephesians 6:17)
First you must realize you’re a sinner.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Understand the Penalty of sin.
God is eternal, unchanging, and completely just. Total justice demands punishment for those who break the laws of God, and His eternal nature makes the duration of that punishment also eternal. The term “death” in Romans 6:23 refers to eternal spiritual death, endless separation from God, that is the just punishment for sin. The Bible refers to the place of punishment as Hell.
“for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23
Confess your sins.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1John 1:9)
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10
Repent and turn from your sin.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19
“I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." Luke 13:3
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” Luke 15:10
Believe that Jesus Died to pay for your sins.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
“But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
“that Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day according to the scriptures” 1st Corinthians 15:3-4
Receive Christ as Lord and Savior.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:" John 1:12
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13 also Joel 2:32
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not that of yourselves; it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8
Invite Jesus into your life today for an everlasting tomorrow!
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" 2nd Corinthians 9:15

Maybe you all misinterpreted my point. I don’t agree with Christians saying that it is okay to listen to worldly music. The Bible says that we cannot combine the things of GOD with that of the world, that includes worldly music. Christians, as I said before, when they are truly born again Christians, have the HOLY SPIRIT residing within them. Do you think that worldly music, talking about all these sinful acts (killing, stealing, having sex with someone, suicide, etc), it geared by the HOLY SPIRIT! Of course not. People, don’t let Satan fool you. We should have all of our focus on GOD and ways in which we cn help ourselves grow spiritually (praying, reading the WORD OF GOD, listening to Christian music, living HOLY lives according to what the BIBLE tells us). Now, another gentlemen said that Oh! well, the internet is evil so why are you using it. It’s not the internet that is evil. It’s not the music that is evil. It’s not money, television, phones, etc that are evil. It’s how you use all of these that make them evil. The devil tries to imitate everything that GOD does, and he perverts it. Just because the devil uses phones for the call girl type stuff, or phone sex (causing one to lust) does not mean Christians can’t talk on the phone. Just because people have money does not make them a sinner. It is the love of money and putting that before the love of GOD that makes it a sin! No, I don’t agree that Rock and Rap are okay to listen to, for a Christian, because it’s not. It doesn’t help you spiritually to grow. If anything it allows demons to get into your spirit and cause you to rebel against the things of GOD! Hallelujah to the LAMB OF GOD! What’s the big deal. So what you have to give up listening to your worldly music. So, what you have to stop going to clubs. So what, that you have to give up that relationship of fornication/adultery. SO WHAT! JESUS GAVE UP HIS LIFE!!!! That’s the biggest price of all! He died, he went through torture, for you and me!!! Isn’t that enough to be grateful for? Isn’t that a good enough reason to PRAISE HIS NAME!! Isn’t that a good enough reason to give up on satan and GET UP WITH GOD! Praise the LORD! Thank you HOLY SPIRIT for your guidance!! He paid the biggest price. Would you have done this? No, I pretty sure you wouldn’t have. He did it because he loves us and he doesn’t want to see us burn in HELL for eternity! What’s so hard about repenting and loving GOD! That’s the least we could do. Some of you really don’t get the drift of how serious this is. GOD is not a joke. Things that are going on in the spirit relm is not a joke. Let’s look at it this way!
If you committed a crime and you were facing life imprisonment or a fine of 10 Billion dollars. Someone you don’t even know, on your day of sentencing, just stands up and says, I have the money. I will pay the price. So, that he/she may be set free. How would you feel? What would you do? Would you be thankful to that person?
Well, that’s what Jesus did for us. He paid the ultimate price, his life. So, that GOD may forgive us of our sins, and so that he may not destroy the world as he did in the time of NOAH. Jesus didn’t want to see that happen and all of us to serve eternal life in hell, burning.

P.S. I am a female for those who believed I was a male. And I’m 22 years old just in case you all thought I was older. It took me a while to understand. The Catholic church has been highly flawed since it’s existence. They seek to control the people with their power, and it works. So many Christians forget that the entire basis of their religion is to love all forms of life, praise God and be thankful to Him...why are so many Christians judgmental when it’s even in the short list of 10 simple rules (the Commandments) that should be followed?
If you’re so Christian, stop judging people! How can you say that people are going to hell for listening to rock and rap music, when you’re disobeying one of the Ten Commandments in the first place?

I am not judging anyone. Because there is only one judge, and he is seated on the throne in Heaven. I’m just letting everyone know the truth, the word of GOD. There is nothing simple about GOD nor about the TEN Commandments. Because you have such a simplistic mind you probably don’t know much about the word of GOD.
So, are you telling me that if GOD orders us to do something, seeing it in his word (THE HOLY BIBLE), that we just ignore it. No, my brother, I’m sorry but you are completely confused. I will be praying for GOD to guide you in the right direction. Again, I’m not judging. There is only one JUDGE. I am doing this out of the love of GOD and out of the need to help the “Sheperd” find his lost “sheep."

Actually, there is Christian rock, Christian rap and yes, even Christian metal including Christian death metal, that does help people come to the Lord, Mortification, Holy Blood, Extol. Each of those band names are that of very devout Christian groups that preach through their words. Don’t believe me? Go and check the lyrics behind them, most are more wholesome than those sung in the slow mournful tunes sung in my church. God has given these people unique and special talents to reach masses of unsaved people who stumble accross these bands and many have been brought to Christ through their music. These people are as one would say “stretcher carriers” as in the parable about the man being lowered through the roof.
The youth group I attend has a Christian rock band playing, last week 170 teenagers gave their lives to Christ through the testimony of these dedicated musicians and preachers.
Live in this world, but do not be of this world.
In other words, do not conform to this world’s patterns, this would also include when the church enters a stagnant state, it begins to fall, keep changing ways of preaching and reaching the world with God’s message, never stop.
Yes, Jesus died for the sins of man, that makes us forgiven and clean in the eyes of the Lord God, how ever, this world is permenantly tainted, and as long as we live in it, so will we sin, the gift of the Lord is not to turn us perfect while here, but to forgive us for our flaws. Smoking, drinking, these things are personal demons that need to be overcome, how ever that is best done with the help of the Lord, he does not turn his back on his flock because they struggle, he guides and loves them through their trials, because you sin while being a Christian, does not mean you are not a Christian, it means that you need to pray for change in your life and turn to God for help.

Acknowledging the Lords sacrafice and accepting it and praying for forgiveness means that there is only one sin that you are not eternally absolved of, and that is knowing the Lord in his fullest and shunning and renouncing his sacrafice. Listening to modern music does not entail eternal damnation.
In General~
Ironically, if you read the first versus of 1 Corinthians 3, you will find scripture against quarelling amongst one another in the churches, making Christians bicker over who has the greater number of sin, or who is more holy or who has scripture completely right, and also WHETHER OR NOT the music you listen to is “Godly” or not, is one of the most clever and evil tricks satan has ever pulled. The church of the Lord has enough enemies on this earth without fighting amongst themselves.

Annoyed christian metal head Guest | i find this topic really really stupid, i am not stopping listening to metal and rock until you find me scripture that says “though shalt not listen to heavy toned fast music”
there is nothing in the bible even vaguely to support that this sort of music is evil
infact i have anger problems and used to vent it in very inappropriate ways, i prayed about it and that was about the time i decided to look at some death metal, i find it to be to me Gods answer to healthy controlled, victimless anger release, not something evil. i hope none of you have to suffer ADHD.
ur basically adding parts to the bible in saying stuff that isnt even there -.-
ever read psalms? people can praise God in all manner of ways, i say headbang in worship if thats how u become closer to God.

The Bible says that some will come to Christ through LOVE and some will come through FEAR, and some will not convert at all and those will be the ones thrown into the lake of fire with Satan, the Antichrist, and the demons. Which do you choose? I urge you now to repent of your sins and cast out those demons of cursing, denile, pride, stubborness, confusion, etc. The punishment that will come upon you will be metered by your offenses to your God. You are being allowed by the Father to proceed on your course. You are as pilgrims on the ladder—up or down. Don’t be ashamed of the GOD you serve. Jesus says, “If you deny my Father here on earth, I will deny you in Heaven before my Father." Wouldn’t be nice to know that you lived a Holy and Sanctified lifestyle for your God and to know 100% that you have a one-way ticket to THE KINGDOM, than to live a unholy lifestyle, disappointing GOD, and recieving a round trip, meaning you’ll be standing in front of GOD on Judgement Day but he’ll be sending you right back down to burn for eternity.

The only thing that really matters is who you are on the inside and how you live your life. What makes you so righteous anyway? You’ve never sinned I assume, I mean if you’re passing judgement on a whole musical genre you must either be sin free, or just another holier than thou art Christian. I am not a Christin, mostly because of people like you. I thought Jesus preached tolerance amongst man. Many “Christians” try to sugar-coat the word of GOD so it can make the Christian walk easier for themselves. What I see is that many of you are only giving your opinions. Although many of you blasphemy to name of GOD! GOD has done many things for you. He is the very reason you awake every morning. Now, after everything GOD has given unto you, you would rather foresake him, just because you don’t want to stop listening to worldly music. Like I said before, and I’ll say it again, if its not about the TRINITY (GOD the Father, GOD the SON, and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT), for our spiritual growth, we shouldn’t listen to it.
The Word of God says: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord...." (Ephesians 5:18 and 19)
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16)
If you all say it’s okay to listen to worldly music and that GOD doesn’t see anything wrong with it, prove it. Prove it with the WORD! Becuase the WORD is the truth.
I feel that God is telling me to point out the many verses on the subject for people to study. We are told many times in the Bible not to be deceived, to watch out for those that are out to wrong us and try and turn us against The One True God. I feel that it is Christians jobs to make sure that other Christians are not deceived by things and people of this world. This “Gospel of Judas” that was found . . . If it is true, then our Bible is wrong . . .and well, that my friend I just do NOT believe and never will believe. I believe and know that The Holy Bible is Gods True Word! Here are many verses from the Bible that talk about being deceived:
Lk 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Don’t let other Deceive you because Jesus did die for you and does not want to loose you to satan!

Justified by His blood

You can’t be both. If you curse and you say you are of Christ, then you are also a liar. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we are not led to do things that are unrighteous, unholy, or unclean. If you say you are Christian and you smoke, drink alcohol, whatever, it’s not right. The BIBLE says that we are temples of the HOLY SPIRIT:
John 2:18
Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

Many of you may get upset. Many of you may mock me. I already know that because the BIBLE warns me.
Wherever the word is spoken, the devil is also present to do his destructive work. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). In Mark 4:15 he warned, “Some people are like seed along the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.” Why is Satan able to take the word away? Because these people do not treasure it. They are careless; thus, they do not discipline their minds to study and understand the word. Even as the word is being preached in the church, the devil is there to steal it from our hearts because he knows that if we add faith to it, we will be healed, saved and strengthened.
Faith comes by hearing the word; thus, the devil will do everything he can to oppose the proclamation of God’s word. In Genesis 2 God told Eve, “For when you eat of it, you will surely die.” But the devil contradicted God’s word, telling Eve, “You will not surely die.” Satan opposes God’s word, and he has many ruses to keep us from receiving it. When the word is being preached, he may cause us to become drowsy or distracted or daydream. He may cause us to disrespect the person preaching the word and criticize his/her appearance and delivery; where there is no respect, there will be no reception and no refreshment.
There is a real war going on whenever the word of God is preached, and the enemy of our souls will oppose us in many ways. But the Bible tells us, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). How do we resist? By disciplining our minds to listen carefully, by countering Satan’s lies with truth, by believing and eating God’s word voraciously, and by eagerly obeying it. We must not let the word of God fall to the ground.
The only difference between myself and some of the others is that I have the Mighty WORD OF GOD to back up what I am saying. And nothing can go against the word of GOD becuase “surely it shall be destroyed." I encourage you, brother, sister, sinner to read the word of GOD for yourself. GOD will reveal awesome things to you. If you are not saved I urge you to do so. Because Jesus is on his way for the church and I pray that you are not left behind.
The Bible tells us that we must be “born again” (John 3:3). Being “saved” and “born again” are the same thing. It means that you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior and that you believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and was resurrected (1st Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 10:9, Romans 5:8). You must also confess and repent of your sins (1st John 1:9, Luke 13:3).
There is only ONE way to heaven and that’s through Jesus. He says “I am the door” (John 10:9) and that no one gets to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
The Lord is knocking on the door of your heart and it’s up to you to let him in (Revelation 3:20).
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" Mark 8:36
For God so loved the world, that he gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) How can you show more love than giving your very life for someone else’s life? You can’t. What is more amazing is that Jesus died for us WHEN WE WERE HIS ENEMIES! I mean vile, wicked, pitiful, wretched, unclean, unholy, ungodly, prideful, spiritually leperous.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
...Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6)
Read the Bible for yourself. While reading the scriptures ask the Lord to guide you through them and teach you what you need to be taught. It’s fine to listen to preachers but you MUST also read the scriptures for yourself especially nowadays that so many false prophets are out trying to distort God’s Word (Matthew 24:11, Mark 13:22, 2nd Peter 2:1-3).
The Word is your sword! (Ephesians 6:17)
First you must realize you’re a sinner.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Understand the Penalty of sin.
God is eternal, unchanging, and completely just. Total justice demands punishment for those who break the laws of God, and His eternal nature makes the duration of that punishment also eternal. The term “death” in Romans 6:23 refers to eternal spiritual death, endless separation from God, that is the just punishment for sin. The Bible refers to the place of punishment as Hell.
“for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23
Confess your sins.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1John 1:9)
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10
Repent and turn from your sin.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19
“I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." Luke 13:3
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” Luke 15:10
Believe that Jesus Died to pay for your sins.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
“But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
“that Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day according to the scriptures” 1st Corinthians 15:3-4
Receive Christ as Lord and Savior.

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13 also Joel 2:32
