THIS MAKES SENSE. LETS ALL GET TOGETHER AND DO IT!

GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work

This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola
executive It came from one of his engineer buddies
who retired from Halliburton. It’s worth your
consideration.

Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to
hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might
go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We
need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes
MUCH MORE SENSE than the “don’t buy gas on a certain
day” campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they
knew we wouldn’t continue to “hurt” ourselves by
refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience
to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever
thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can
really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you’re probably thinking gasoline priced at
about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently
$2.79 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the
oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at
$1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to
teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not
sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each
day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we
are going to see the price of gas come down is if we
hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their
gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How?

Since we all rely on our cars, we can’t just stop
buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if
we all act together to force a price war.

Here’s the idea: For the rest of this year, DON’T
purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies
(which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not
selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their
prices. If they reduce their prices, the other
companies will have to follow suit. But to have an
impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon
and Mobil gas buyers. It’s really simple to do! Now,
don’t wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and
I’ll explain how simple it is to reach millions of
people!!

I am sending this note to over 30 people. If each of us
send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and
those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =
3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches
the sixth group of people, we will have reached over
THREE MILLION consumers.

If those three million get excited and pass this on to
ten friends each, then 30 million people will have
been contacted! If it goes one level further, you
guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.
That’s all!
(If you don’t understand how we can reach 300 million
and all you have to do is send this to 10 people....
Well, let’s face it, you just aren’t a mathematician.
But I am . so trust me on this one.) :-)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends
this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of
receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be
contacted within the next 8 days!!! I’ll bet you
didn’t think you and I had that much potential, did
you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message
on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL
THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP
THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Take some economics classes. This plan is stupid. It will not work. The market is currently allocating gasoline most effiectly as possible.

Well of course they are using gas efficiently. Thats what capitalism does. The more efficient, the more money you make. Prices, at least in this case, are different. The people with the oil want more money, so they raise the price. Since demand is so high, people just deal with it. As soon as demand drops, which is basically what will happen when people stop buying the oil from the two major companies. As demand goes down, prices goes down.

Whats different about the gas market is that there is a seemingly unlimited supply. Gas should be cheap, right? Not in this case becuase the people who own the gas are forcing prices higher by grouping together to make a monopoly of sorts. Therefore, they can set prices where they want becuase people have no choice but to buy from them. So efficiency is not the issue, lack of market control and regulation is.

Xtrm - I sent it to 10 people. I think it makes perfect sense. Hope 300 million people get it soon.

as much as you want to believe. the customer needs/wants gas more than the seller needs/wants the money. we will pay whatever tag they put on gas because we need cars. americans are lazy and will pay 4-5 dollars a gallon. they may not drive as much but they will definitely pay that price cause i’ve seen it before.

IF EXXON IS LOSING MONEY OR NOT GAINING MONEY THEY WILL PAY OFF SHELL(WHO IS MAKING MONEY) TO LET THEMSELVES EXXON HAVE A CHEAPER GAS PRICE UNTIL THINGS EQUAL OUT AGAIN. IF YOU SEE GAS FOR SHELL @ 3.29 AND THAN AT THE GAS STATION YOU REFUSE TO GO TO @ 2.49 DONT TELL ME YOU WONT GO TO EXXON. REMEMBER THERE IS ALWAYS A PLAN OUTSIDE A PLAN AND WITH US BEING THE ONES WHO WANT WHAT THEY HAVE,, THAN IF THEY CAN PLAY HEAD GAMES, WE WILL FOLLOW ALONG CAUSE THEY WILL FEED INTO WHAT WE WANT.

eh you will never get enough people to start this up...

people just don’t have enough solidarity to join up in this kinda thing cause so many are sceptical about joining and starting up anything too big not to mention when they are getting told this over the internet...

I want to give this a sticky for some people who I respect a lot, but this would actually be a problem. One, we would need to post this on a huge website..., no matter how much I want this to be better, Moviecodec.com is a moderately big website. I mean a website where millions of consumers go to every month. In all actually, websites involving the most adults per month are a great idea. Half of these people can’t even drive.

Second, a bill passed a while back (a huge while back) requires gas companies to keep prices are a bare low. If the government believes that the prices are too high, then they will take action. They are not legally allowed to make the prices extremely high. This isn’t for gas, but for almost every industry in the U.S. For example, a needed product like milk can have a sharp incline in price if all of the companies agreed to it. The price of the milk affects the price of so many other aspects of the market: cereal, cooking, lactose-interant products... the list can go on. This is a major reason as to why the stock market crashed, because every product sold in the U.S. is dependant on another product. Power Companies need coal, coal miners need gas, gas companies need cars, car companies need building materials and electricty to process the materials... the list goes on and on.

So if we boycotted, the effects of the gain may be severely more effective than the effects of the loss.

next year its 5 dollars per gallon... and i wouldd be in this cult thingy too if i had stoped using gass as a flamethrower out of a super soaker...
lol it works but sometimes the tank explodes becasue u shoot water or gass to slow do the fire moves up inside ur tank and blows it up
also if ur using one of those propain bottles for portable stoves thats not a good idea... it blows up after u light a match and bring it close to the propain bottol... why? well propane leaks doesnt it?
my friend luckily had 2 deggree burns though...

This does not work. Gas is a necessity like milk, eggs, and flour. If prices for food rise too, should we boycott them too?

More Americans are using cars, using gas to heat homes, and whatnot. Go back and learn the concept of supply and demand.

Besides, it’s more expensive to produce gas, as compared to producing milk, eggs, and flour. At least farmers aren’t risking so much of their lives, as compared to oil workers.
