You benefit from that. It makes you feel good inside. You feel better. I have to go now. Be back tomorrow.

well the benefits for the other person probably outweigh the benefits to yourself so perhaps you could consider that to be unselfish...

I have to agree with Black Hydra Xc, we have selfish motives for everything, even if we don’t realise it. That said, BHXc, you might hate to know that you just explained the concept of “original sin” - that everything we do is tainted by our self-serving desires.

It’s like being a Christian just so you don’t go to Hell ... very selfish, but at the same time, understandably human.

The Right Costume Ha! (Self-Centered Attitude)

Every human born with a brain and a soul, is evident in the midst of being gifted a personage identity.

We often wonder why, we wonder how? The person next to us is poles apart from what we are, and fancy the talents that are inborn in him or her which brings an attitude that evokes a fancy liking towards our self.

Being Selfish is a custom-made costume given to us as we are born, however we tend to use this custom-made costume at our will and fancy towards convinced targets that we tend to dislike due to our own personal judgment and be liable to change colors of this costume were gains are directed towards us.

Self Centered individuals is what we are where the center point erupts a glimpse picture of Me , I , and only Me in Business Organizations, Films, the music industry and many more .

I found the topic very intriguing smiley Very good point here...

However in my opinion, selflessness or selfishness is defined by your initial intention to the situation. If your initial intention to help someone is to make yourself happy then selfishness is involve. But if you helped them because you see them suffering and in pain and have would like to help ease their predicament then I would like to assume that act is unselfish...helping others is not an easy task...and sadly not that many people do it now-a-days...sigh...

Well put, helping others isn’t easy, and those who do should be commended whether the reason is selfish OR selfless.

Okay people listen. There is no outweighing of anything. If it makes you feel good, it’s selfish. Say a senior citizen needs help across the street and you help them. That’s unselfish right? Wrong. You help them to feel better about yourself. Feelings involve selfish things too.

ok so we are all selfish... not like I agree with that but what the hell is the point of this... to tell us that we are all self centered brats... come on it’s not like we are helping others for the sole sake of gratitude... many people do it because they want to help... the feeling afterwards is just an afterthought many times and not the actual reason as to why the good deed is being done...
