I know many of us have a lot of beefs with Someone Who Cares, but I’ll be the first to come out and say what I’m sure others are thinking:

I kind of miss him/her.

Where’s the heated spiritual debate? It was actually a post of his/hers that brought me here!

Call me crazy if you will, but I started looking forward to arguing with SWC on a daily basis. It kept me on my toes and was a great test of my patience!

SWC is a he, and im sure his off working on his essay, you see i kind of told him to go away and not come back until it was finished.

My pastor actually approves of the internet, it enables us to reach more people with the word of God, but I agree sometimes Satan is using the internet himself, to contact people and lure them down the path towards idolatory. Actually in the bible there is no commentary directly relating to whether internet use is bad or good. It’s something Jesus and the apostles never directly alluded to. The nearest evidence we can come to is these words of paul :

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8

Like many things this is a sword of damocles.

We all know what the Bible actually says is irrelevent. What matters is what the pastor manipulates the verse and subsequenlty the congregation into.

Actually myst7426 thats not totally true.
The bible says :

Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I.e that the word of God will have an effect on people unlike that of normal human talk.

Im Matthew 7:15-17 there is this warning:

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit."

We can see that the spirit of God is warning us that, yes some people will come and try to manipulate the word of God towards there own purposes, so in this respect you are right.
Well Done ! I am suprised that you would come up with something so biblically based.
But this passage also tells us that we will know if the preaching is good or bad dependent upon the “fruit” it bears.

The bible is in no shape or form irrelevant, but is the total truth about the divine revelation of God to mankind begining with Adam and Eve, through Issac, Moses the prophets and culminating in the person and divine prescence of Jesus himself. Who you can open your heart to and recieve salvation, as is your free choice granted to you by God.

The bible is the living breathing truth, it is a message for both the saved and the sinners. It is in every sence of the word relevant to all of humanity.

Actually it’s not really me that you miss, but the revealed word of God that passes through me. The bible says that when we hunger for the true word of God, we shall be filled :

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." (Matt. 5:6)

Psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

This is why you miss me ! It is the activity of God working in your heart as he leads you towards the great and righteous path of love.

You are like the psalmists when they weep for God’s love and mercy. This is the revealed truth of the holy scriptures that you hunger for not me, I am a bystander in the activity of the holy spirit upon your heart.

God is truly working miracles on this forum and I can see his love and blessings manifest in the heart of the unbelievers and idoloters.

Now he is calling us, much like he had called the disciples one by one or brother with brother on the shores of galilee :

“Listen! Open your ears, and come to me. Listen, and your soul will live!" (Isa. 55:3)

Not only that God refines us through the activity of the scriptures :

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness!" (2 Tim. 3:16)

Bringing us ever closer to his divine love.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away!" (Matt. 24:35)

How much more do we need to hear, the voice of love asking us to repent and accept jesus as our saviour. ?

I am working on v1.9.. which should produce slightly more accurate results.
But for now you’ll have to make do with these sub par algorithms spouting forth the WORD OF THE LORD !

Eventually SWC XP(paracletus edition) will be out, and that should be shockingly realistic but for now this is all we have:

I think you’ve just made a very important social commentary here, whether intentionally or not:

Words are nothing without actions.

lonnnliness has just shown that without the name, we wouldn’t know what was just posted from something that the real SWC would write. Scratch that ... you’ve made far more sense than SWC ever did. You have a knack for finding very relevent biblical quotes. In fact, you’ve picked some of my favourites, and the ones that have affirmed my faith in the past. Cheers, lonnnliness. Now the question is, with the revelation of words vs. actions, is there any point in me sticking around here anymore? after all, it’s just words ...

It was WAAAY COOL dude, I was like he’s gonna do it, he’s gonna leave. Then you pulled back. It had me freaking out for a minute there. If you had left it longer you would of got messages of support. Try it for a day, but you need to post your own topic about it for maximum impact.

But truthfully, and this is the only time I am going to preach on my soap box:

Words and Actions are almost identical they are both physical manifestation in the world with physical properties. They impact upon created matter. Even thought impulses in this way are created matter.
Early Christians in Acts did a lot of praying and so did Jesus. BUddhists do quite alot of meditation, and hindoooooo’s to etc.
This is the only quantifiably limiting action that you can have on your output. I’e it is the only way to radically change ones impact upon the physical world. In fact it is the only action that counts for anything. I get this feeling about it. But obviously the b.gita says that we can through action attain results in a spiritual sense too.
I really don’t know to be honest with you, and I find all conversation stupid until it is non stupid. And then it makes me cringe. I hate being honest, and true to myself. And I am essentially clueless. But I think that it’s all well and good to stand in the market place discussing and discussing or if you prefer just cussing but perhaps only in communities of prayer and meditation can we find any real approach to “truth”. Even then it is a minefield or mindfield of thought impulses limiting our appreciation of truth.
I am almost insane. Very definately Inane.
