On a funnier note, the ps3 will probably be a big flop in japan unless they lower the price to about 20,000 yen,
becasue the japanese people said taht they didn’t buy a 360 becasue they though it was too expensive, and the ps3 is looking to be about $200-300 more then hte 360.
So possibly the revolution or Wee will be the new no 1 in japan? | |

staff Guest | Not even close to being true! The reason why it didn’t sell well with the japanese people is because of the lack in variety in games the original x-box consisted of. No real good “thinking” game ever came out for the x-box. most were just FPS and really short adventure games, all aiming for visual output to aww mindless teenagers. | |

Sword Guest | Even if you could get the cheaper 360, it wouldn’t come with the hradrive, making it lose a lot of it’s features from the get go. No backwards compatibility, music storage, longer load times and less memory cache. | |

I still don’t think 360 will out sell ps3 in japan but wii definately will. the gaming market in japan has been shrinking and the country has been in a recession for over a decade. the japanees market is not as big as alot of sony fans say anyway. it’s only about %15. ---

He also brang up a good point about how Nintendo, not intentially, alienates third party developers, making it harder to port other games. They’re tired of all the various Marios coming out. He believes that by having Mario as the main character, Nintendo’s games would sell more instead of introducing new characters. ---

I could say my cousin ichiro matsui is in japan and has been disgusted by the high price and short comings of ps3 but, I would be full of shit cause I have no cousin in japan. now if your jetset international family doesnt mind the extra $200 price tag or the $400 jump from Wii thats great, good for them. I’m happy there doing well. but to say the high price doesn’t affect the large majority of consumers is not something anyone with common sense is going to believe.

the 360 costs 716 bucks here and the ps3 will cost around 800 bucks. thats cus of region. if the ps3 was made in america it wuld be cheaper there. the ps3 is made in japan so the price isnt raised as much here. and in japan its probly gona be cheaper than 360! consoles dont revolve around america. the revolve around the UK as well and japan and korea and indonesia which all prefer playstation. ---
