The message is simple friends. Accept the fact that you have sinned, accept Jesus as your personal Saviour, believe, confess your sins (we have all sinned, Romans 3:23), and receive salvation, and live eternally in paradise. Don’t do this, and you will not have it good after death. That is the main message.

you really should know that there are more religions besides christianity mate...
and i think with the posts you make we would get the idea you are trying to force upon us, so there isnt any need to make a whole thread for it...

What is with the belief that you have to “believe in Jesus” to be “saved” John 3:16 to me means you should believe his teachings, and follow them. Love thy neighbour and your god, do not judge, etc. That’s just good practice; instead of preaching that however, your “simple message” has become so confused with politics and brainwashing that it drives people away. The idea of salvation without works, or salvation through belief alone is not the message of Jesus, but those who came after him. You want to hear the simple message? Love and respect all people, and heaven will be on Earth. No “repent or burn” or “beware of your day of judgement," just LOVE. Who here will deny the truth of that? GOD is LOVE; therefore, be loving and you are godlike. Much nicer than saying we’re all evil and destined to burn for eternity if we don’t apologise for something we may or may not have done wrong, don’t you think?

well unfortunatly thats what SWC does...
i myself dont say every christian does that but SWC does and it gets VERY annoying...
the preaching part about repent your sins i can see but the addon of “or youll burn in hell” or other variations of that is taking it a bit too far and generally shows me that s/he doesnt appearently know or chooses to ignore all the other religions in the world...

I can’t stand it when people try and shove religion down another’s throat.

I am not saying you are wrong about anything you have wrote you are entitled to an opinion as much as the next person.
Maybe you should try looking at two sides to the equation for once instead of being so one sided.
You have read the bible then i am guessing, try to consider points from another point of view before putting up a defence straight away, at the moment its like talking to a brick wall.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to love everyone, people share so many grudges and hate between each other i see no love in that.
To love everyone would make you blind. Blind to your own judgements on people, its just like letting someone walk all over you and letting them get away with it.
It shouldn’t be judged on your belief whether you go to heaven, if there even is one, more if you are a good person or not.
And i’m not saying good as in a perfect all rounder, just someone who want to live their life with good intentions and with an open mind.
Not totally biased on one religion, to me living with an open mind to everything gives the freedom everyone deserves, and their own choices about their own lives.
Not living by the book and believing everything that gets pushed into their head.

And look what religion is doing to the world, people are blowing themselves and other innocent people up, thinking they will be rewarded after it all in another life.
Religion gives me no sense of freedom whatsoever.
Fair enough, there are people like you who believe in all that, but have you ever questioned it before?
Like ok for instance if you had done something wrong or bad whatever it may be, went to a church and said bla bla bla what difference would that make to a person in this life?
This gives me the impression that god wants us to be running to him for mercy.
And thats freedom to you?

SWC - I stated originally that the idea of salvation through faith alone, not works, is an idea proposed by people who came after Jesus. Quoting scripture written by Paul, who came after Jesus, just shows what I was saying. Jesus stated that the path to Heaven would be granted to those who welcomed the homeless, fed the poor, and visite the sick and imprisoned, not by believing in him. Do I believe in the Teacher? Yes, of course I do! But the lesson is what is most important.
