Guys none of this is going to matter as the technology is not going to be a deciding factor. Most people have a DVD player and are content with that. And plus anyway if it did matter which I hightly doubt it would, Blu-Ray would win because it comes with the console. HD-DVD because it comes seperately and extremely expensive wouldn’t stand a chance.

But seriously none of this is going to matter.

Well sadly the PS3 one would probably be the cheapest. Cause if you want it for the X360 you have to not only by the console but the HD-DVD drive also. Which will probably be 200-300 if not 400.

While the PS3 blu-ray is all in one package for 600. But as you can see this is all a lot of money and just way to much to be spending. Just get a Revo right.

depends on the games

if 360 gets another KOTOR then that’s the next console

the thing is both consoles r pretty much the same price

only difference is the 360 doesn’t come with everthing

while the ps3 does so total they r the same

Oh by the way on Nosks forum I made a post in the Game discussion part. You should see it as the last post on the one for the next gen console wars.

It’s about ATI explaining how the graphics you saw at E3 are only at the tip of the iceberg of what the GPU can really do. Saying that is just a small piece of what the GPU can show off. Meaing that those are not the graphics of the revo. Good read.

at E’3 it was only a suped up outdated GC

and not the rev new hardware

plus it’d be pretty stupid spending time, money, and effort on new hardware that doesn’t out do the previous outdated hardware

ps3s price might scare off some gamers but it will atract more people who are looking for a blu ray player.

I completely agree with zucas here. there is no need for a new media format yet. people are happy with there dvd players.

options. we dont have the option of taking out the blu-ray player and making ps3 a reasonable price. a 360 owner can also purchase that stupid add on when its reasonable. but consumers won’t. they will buy a hd-dvd player, blu-ray player, or “future format” player when the need for it arrives.

NO ONE IS GUNNA CHOOSE TO PLAY HIGH DEF MOVIES ON A FUCKIN CONSOLE!!

Comparison of the two formats: Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD

Blu-ray:
Price- $1,000 and up
Storage- 54? gb
Plays DVD- Yes
Resolution- 1080p max.
Hollywood Support- Columbia TriStar, MGM, 20th Century Fox, Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros.
Game Support- Playstation 3

HD-DV
Price- $500 and up
Storage- 30 gb
Plays DVD- Yes
Resolution- 1080p max. (currently 1080i or 720p)
Hollywood Support- Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros.
Game Support- Nothing as to speak of

Blu-ray has the advantage over HD-DVD except for pricing and resolution. It is also faster and more durable. Will PS3 help its cause? I got all this info from EGM of May 2006, page 34.

not only are those movie studios suporting blu ray but alot of other none movie companies. like HP or something.
HD dvd at the moment looks like a loner.
also alot of the time a movie comes with 2 discs
2 hd dvds would cost more than 1 blu ray disc.
also is it not only more convieniant the ps3 will suport it for games so u will see better graphics higher res and best of all bigger story lines and a really fucking big world.

so i wouldn’t be surprised if not many games sold at launch because of people just buying it for blu-ray
