Did I fail to mention that the Cloud in Kingdom Hearts isn’t the same Cloud that’s in The FF games?

The real Cloud is a hundred times stronger than the Cloud in KH is, and also think about this, in KH 2 when you fight Sephiroh you may defeat him but Sephiroth just shrugs off the damage and tells you to fins Cloud for him, when you do find Cloud he comes in and holds his own against Sephiroth, and I wouldn’t doubt that Cloud defeated him either.

anybody could kill Sephiroth... well wait... Sephiroth is immortal... Anybody can defeat Sephiroth, they just have to be strong enough, and apparently, Sora wasn’t.

This thread caught my attention (Probably because Link and Cloud were in the title)

So have we decided on what the teams are going to be? Or are we going to further stray from the topic, because Im willing to go all out with Cid on the Link vs Cloud part again.

Hmmm ok Cloud strenght combined with Sonic’s Speed versus Link’s arsenal of weapons at his disposal merged with Sora’s might combo of divine magic and combos of frightful bashing

Ok lets c if Sonic was able to use blue tornado repeatedly it could catch Sora and Link unless link uses the jump feather and Sora casts Aeroga.If Link pulled Sonic in wit his grappling hooky and Sora charged in with a major combo then Sonic might get owned.Unless Cloud breaks the hook off.I might say Sonic and Cloud due to the fact Sonic’s bursty speed can distract Sora and Link while Cloud pulls off a move on em.(or a summon)

Dude its sora from kh2 that means he has all his drives and summons and spells. And besides in kh2 sora is faster then sonic, when sora is in drive final form.I mean i think link and sonic will fight and sora will take on cloud(again for like the 5th time) =-) and sora can stop time for a couple of seconds and escape sonics hurricane and beat sonic up.

Oh yea lol i forgot about his time freeze spell but wait thats a Stop Spell from the first game!So there fore how can he freeze time?The only way Sora can dish out some damage against Sonic is if he pulls out a summon like Genie,Stitch,Peter Pan(Watch out Sora it might be Micheal Jackson in disguise who’ll bring u to neverland!) and Chicken Little.But Sonic does have Super Sonic mode though right.He can move way faster in this style plus wit chaos spear and control i think hes got it covered.Link and Cloud are kinda equal though(remember from Link vs Cloud thread).So pretty much its up to Sora and Sonic to turn the tide.Unless Link or Cloud give their Ally a hand.Plus the fact that Cloud handled multiples foes on his own means he can endure a bad bruising.Plus he can own Sora wit his arrray of materia and summons(way better then disney guys).So leaving Link up against Cloud and Sonic well weve seen Link endure tough times.

Okay let’s see, Sonic would need to immediatly go into his super sonic form, he’d be moving so fast that it would be almost impossible to hit him with a ranged attack, so he would cause Link and sora to try to close in, Cloud would remain in the background at the start, he would equip his Ribbon (to prevent any status effects, like Sora’s stop ability) and he would get his Ultima Weapon. Sonic would keep Sora and Link distracted while Cloud unleased his stop ability on Sora and Link, chances are though only Sora would get affected by it, Link would proably have casted Naryu’s love.

Sonic would take that moment to get in close and strike Sora, but he makes a mistake, Link wasn’t stoped, Sonic would hit Sora and deal an amount of damage but Link would get on a strong hit to the unsuspecting sonic, Sora would be unstoped at this moment and strike Sonic again, Link would turn his attention to Cloud now, but his barrier would probably ware off by this point, so Cloud tries a flare attack, Link would roll out of the way and Sora would jump out of the way.

Sora and Link would then charge towards Cloud, Cloud would know that trying to cast a spell at a distant would be useless, so he prepares for a close combat fight with Link and Sora, the first to arrive at Cloud would be sora, they would start fighting, Cloud would have the advantage, he’s stronger, faster, and probably smarter... well he’s definatly stronger and faster than Sora is, Cloud would proably have enough time to Strike at Sora one time before Link gets there too, but Sora would try to block that strike, Cloud’s emmence strength would throw Sora back a few feet right at Link, Link would natually roll out of the way.

Link would quickly recast Naryu’s love and start Attack Cloud, Cloud is on the defensive for the time being, but he has a trick up his sleeve, he quickly dodges one of Link’s attacks and immediatly activates debarrier, thus dispelling Naryu’s love, Cloud would then have a golden oppurtunity to strike Lik from behind, which he does, Link gets injured and is now laying on the ground, but Cloud has forgotten that Sora was behind him, thus meaning Sora gets a sneak attack on Cloud, but Sora forgot something too, Sonic just got back up and went super again, Sonic would nail Sora from behind as he was about to strike Cloud, Cloud would turn around and Strike Sora, Cloud, deciding that he wasn’t going to make the same mistake Sora did, would turn around to see Link charging a Fire arrow, Link fires the arrow, but Cloud is too quick, he moves to the side and proceeds to strike Link again, this time knocking him to where sora was.

Cloud would cast a stop spell on Link and Sora again, this time it affects them both, Sonic moves out of the way, and Cloud casts knights of the round, thus beating both Link and Sora, or at least Sora, Link uses a bottled Fairy to bring himself back to life, he sees Sora is dead, and decides that he should help, he reaches for another bottled fairy, but Sonic finally puts his speed to use and snatches the bottle from Link.

Unless Link can revive Sora, he is a gonner, there is no way he could defeat both Sonic and Cloud, and Sonic would too quick for link to use a fairy on Sora, and Cloud could even use mug to steal Link’s items.

Nicely written Cid, but of course you know that this will most likely not be the outcome. I don’t think your using Link, Sora or Cloud to their best abilities. Also, I think Sonic needs to start accelerating first before he gets his amazing speed, so I’m not sure if he could grab Link’s bottle if he just got up.

Yea Sonic on the other hand is very speedy and combined wit Cloud strength makes em a grea team.Sora and Link on the other hand hav their advantage and that is their arsenal of combos,spells, and weaponry.Ok to make this battle even better is if every character when to the highest of their bility.If sonic were to go Super he can use his speed for distraction and his chaos spears as a ranging tool.As for Sora he can mainly block the spheres but on the other hand he can cast that reflect spell back at sonic.So that would be an ouchy so therefore Sonic would resort to a distraction close range combat.Link and Cloud however.Link can also go in for a range assauly on Sonic but then sonic would be to smart enough to dodge it.Although link can use his hook shot to real sonic in for a massive combo kill.Cloud however is mostly the close up type of fighter so he might resort into tanking Sora or Link.i would think Cloud might go for Link and hold him off as Sonic downs Sora.Sonic can also use his Sonic Wind move to catch sora into a whirlwind and then cast Chaos Spear or home attack him.Plus sonic can also use a powerup in the Sonic&Knuckles game(or was it 3 i dont know its been a while)Like a Fire bubble to block fire spells,Water bubble freeze spells(consider ice and water r same elements) and thunder bubble.If u havnt seen these power up on sonic try playing those old games or buy sonic mega collection.So therefore Sonic can kick Sora’s ass plus use his speedy smarts to prevent Sora from performing a cure or summon.Although Sora may have Leaf Bracer to prevent interruption during cures it still wont work as Sonic can burn out his mana on and on till sora is out of ethers,pots and whatever stuff he can use and will resort into a deadly result.Then Sonic and Cloud can focus on Link and wit the assistance of Sonic Cloud can defeat Link.Although Link is heard to use the 4 swords get this.Sonic wind can pull in enemies and then Cloud can pull off a summon and take out the 4 links in one blow or just omnislash.Capishe?

link can were his iron boots and bunny hood
then sonic can’t suck em in
and he is fast

but it’d be more up to cloud to defeat link
at which point it was proven to be a tie
then link has his anti cloud move thingy from SSBB that everyone has been talking about

and link can always mind control sonic
and use him against cloud until cloud kills sonic

I remember those powerups of Sonics, they were preety good from what I can remember (lost the power supply of my Genesis), Here is what they did:

Thunder Shield: Gave Sonic a double jump that when used, attracted rings and possibly made him invulnerable to electric attacks. It would be lost if he went into water. (might be able to attract Sora’s and Link’s equipment, but might also attract Clouds)

Bubble shield: Let Sonic bounce fairly high like on a trampoline, and also let him breathe under water

Fire Shield: Made Soinc resistant to fire, and let him glide a short time in a ball of flame. (It would probably protect himself from dins fire)

All these abilites are not permanent and can only be acquired if Sonic destroys one of it’s holders. Also the shield is lost if Sonic takes any damage that he can’t protect against.


EDIT: Cloud won’t be able to take out 4 Links with just one Omnislash. They would be revived many times* by Force Faries.


*Approxamtily 115 times or higher.

Ahhhh Iron Boots and bunny hood good combo for Link.Dam looks like Link and Sora might win.But Sonic power ups will only be gone from physical attacks or different element.I might side on Link and Sora on this one lol.Sonic will be pretty useless now since his speed will be useless even in Super Mode.Then best way for Link and Sora to win is to have Sonic taken out first by catching him with Iron Boots and bunny hood on.Then grappling hook pull in Sonic and pull off a combo as for Sora he will distract Cloud.Sora can use his drive modes only when his party member r around which will be not.However he can glide away and equip leaf bracer and cure constantly till Link gets Sonic.So i might go with a tie here.

*note that Sora will not be able to go into his Drive modes without his party members around goofy and donald.

I don’t think that Sora and Link can win, to be completly honest, the reason I called for a tie in the Link versus Cloud argument was because I was too fixed on the new Smash Brothers, I don’t think that Link could beat Cloud all out, Sora could take on Sonic, but Sora wouldn’t stand a chance against Cloud, Link could beat Sonic, and Cloud could beat sonic, basically Sonic is the weakest link in this fight, by Cloud can power Sonic up with big guard and haste, especially haste, if Cloud did Haste top double Sonic’s speed, Sonic would be untouchable, especially in Super mode, Sonic would provide a distraction while Cloud casted Knights of the Round to kill Sora and Link, but Link would come back to life, so Cloud would have to kill him again, and again, and again, which given the right materia combo, would be possible for an infinite amount of time, All Sonic would need to do after the initial KOTR is keep Link from reviving Sora or activating Naryu’s love, then again, if Cloud casted Silence on Link then that would prevent Link from using anything that involves his magic meter, which means Link would have to do close combat or use the bow, but Sonic is so fast thanks to Haste, that the bow would be useless against him and Cloud could deflect the arrows.

As for the Bunny Hood and Iron Boots, the reason Link is so slow with the boots is because the boots weigh so much (hints the reason he will sink in water) So the Bunny hood wouldn’t help his movements while he has the boots on, all it does is accelerate the person’s body, not increase their physical strength.

I also agreed for the tie, beacuse of the same reasons, but I knew this debate would come back sooner or later. If all the characters were to go to their highest ability then I’m guessing Link can use his triforce if Sonic gets his Chaos emeralds. That of course spells doom for both Sonic and Cloud. However not using the Triforce I still believe Link and Sora would win. Link could easliy wear his “Magic cape” which makes him invisable, and invincable. Of course if we use that with “Cheatau Romani” Link has and endless supply of magic. Also the Magic Cape makes Link immune to every type of attack even DeBarrier. How so? Cause every attack goes through Link making him impossible to hit. As for Sora I don’t know how he will fair. So we need a Sora expert.

if Cloud used a dispel attack on the entire field it would disable Link’s cape, then all he need to do is cast stop on Link, then mug Link and steal the cape... viola, Cloud just become invisible

Oh yes I also forgot to mention Link’s Hammer from Four Swords GCN. This Hammer when struck down to the ground, creates a large ripple causing anything it hits to be stunned. This would probably mess up Sonic alot and makes his speed less potent. Or Link can use Quake and turns Sonic into a turnip like creature, while Cloud WILL probably be immune to this spell, it will give Link and Sora a great advantage.
