Bjarne, no offense but your an idiot for hiring lashing as a moderator. He is NEVER around on these forums and he is not strict enough. I mean seriously, you can’t deny that he is hardly on here.

It’s a time difference, and I beleive Bjarne origionally have him a mod for 2 reasons:
Being in Australia the main rush for him is during the night but during the day in his zone he can look over the site while the majority of poeple (including all the other moderators) are asleep.
Lashing had origionally made the thread about the lack of moderators and Bjarne turned around and hired him without his consent, which Lashing simply accepted.

As for not being strict enough you can talk to him and note him on that politely, I’m sure he’ll be more than willing to be a bit tougher with the rules.

Besides that there isn’t much else I can do and what Bjarne can do is fairly limited as well...

Let me start off by saying, just because I’m not posting, doesn’t mean I’m not around. I do regularly check over the forums, but I do admit that I don’t exactly stay very long.

This is simply because I have been flat out as of late, due to various things including school, my part-time job and other personal commitments, which have resulted in me no longer being on the computer anywhere near as much as I have been.

As for my post count, I have another account that I used when I first came to these forums, which have another 300-400 posts. Also, due to time differences, when I am posting, I am mostly talking to myself, because there isn’t anyone else online... therefore, I am not conversing with anyone, but rather just commenting on posts made throughout the day, so I would say that living in Australia does affect how many posts I make.

As me not being strict enough, I am glad you said this, but please elaborate. I said from the beginning that I am open to any suggestions, so, in what situations do you think I have been too leniant... I look forward to your response.

And Bjarne feels the need to take me off the moderating team, then so be it. But I do see advantages in me being a moderator, as T.R said, I am mostly online when G.R and SA-X are not, so with me being a moderator, I am able to look after these forums at times when the others can’t... think of it as me being on the night shift.

I hope this has cleared any questions anyone may have, and if anyone wants to add any constructive critisism, please do so... the best way for me to improve as a moderator, is using the help of everyone here!

_lashing has both the full support of me and SA-X. He is very, very precise, and the only reason he has very little posting records is because he cannot maintain a constant appearance here while everybody else can.

I find no problems with _lashing_, and more often than not, he is a much more proficient moderator than I am.

lol how does the number of posts dictate if he should be a moderator or not?
Like he himself said; “Also, due to time differences, when I am posting, I am mostly talking to myself, because there isn’t anyone else online..."
Mostly I have a large amount of posts because I’m at that time spot where just about everyone is on during the day, and all day they stay on. (and a couple of other things)
So that really shouldn’t make a difference to how many posts he has, just because he doesn’t post doesn’t mean he doesn’t look after the forums like he said.
And all in all besides maybe being a tad more lenient then GR and SA-X (definetly the latter, no offense intended to SA-X of course) he makes a good moderator, if he didn’t Bjarne wouldn’t have hired him.
Pretty simple.
And besides lets just say you do convince Bjarne to demote him, then what?
One less moderator and nobody to replace them?
Might be a bit better to just keep him do you not think?

A moderator is under no obligation to be online every day. It is not a job.

Well on here it isn’t, and it makes sense, not everybody can be on every day. (hell for all I know I’m the only one on here every day for some span of time, but even then when I go on vacations I’m not on)

Yeah, I would like to know as well. Forums don’t exactly make a lot of money (and have rather high server costs), so I find it hard to imagine that a forum could actually afford to pay moderators more than a few pennies smiley

Australians UNite.

I thought Mr. Lashing was too tough ! And you guys are saying he is slack !!

(p.s. I would like to say that we do need an Australian mod to keep gooogle_queen in check, she really thinks she can get away with anything)

Just wait untill one of these gets made for me and weeman...it’s happened to GR (I think, though maybe not a seperate thread dedicated to that, SA-X has had it before though) and Lashing and SA-X, we’ll probably be next...
