Hi,

Temporary bans has now been introduced. This allows the moderators to ban guests/users for periods of 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month etc.

First of all:

Maximum pernalty is no longer 10 years (there really isn’t any point to it), it is a PERMANENT ban instead.

Secondly:

Over the last hours I have completely changed the way bans are stored and logged in the database. So now I can see exactly who bans who, when, for how long, in relation to which message etc. In fact it is possible now to generate a banning history for any given IP or user account

I plan on allowing moderators to see the banning history for any given account/IP to better help them determine if it is a repeat offender.

Sweet, so it’s kinda like a criminal record for moviecodec-ers...it’ll definetly help out a bit cause we al know the shorter temporary bans won’t get the point across to some people...
Though the chances of me ever even glacing at that button let alone using it are slim...

Well, with bans as short as 24 hours, banning people can be a lot less “destructive” now. It is ok if the moderators use the banning option a little more often now
