Does runescape ruin anyones computer?

Hey guys i was wondering is runescape ruining anyones computer at the moment like gettin these crap pop ups bout a trojan fast click virus and crap?And another thing is ur computer fanning when runescape is being played on ur computer cuz my cuzin is doing it alot and now i hav to put a password on my computer and laptop to prevent him from being a total virus spreader.

Runescape itself is fine. Some of the Shockwave/Flash ads in Free to Play used to cause a bit of hassle until I blocked them out in my Hosts file. This’ll block out the popup ads being generated by the runescape ads as well, though popup ads are against runescapes advertiser policy some do slip through, You can try and report them to Jagex but they’ll ptobably just brush you off.

Most of the virus problems you hear about to do with runescape are caused by people trying to use macros and bots and are therefore being downloaded and installed by the lamers themselves, not by runescape.

While your computer is fanning try Ctrl-Alt-Del and check what processes are using processor time, might be something unrelated like something stuck in the print queue (spooler).

it causes mine to lag like hell
and sometimes just disconnect for no reason

even after my brother stops playing it

it’s cause it stream an excessive amount of information adn sucks up all the bandwith

same here runescape destroyed my old computer i can even use it anymore,im stuck with my laptop now

Lol i put a lil lock and pass on my computer now to prevent my cousin from destroying my research laptop and my computer.

my brother uses his laptop to play runescape and it screws up the laptop cus if he’s not at the runescape site and types soemthing it mixes up all the letters
like the it’s playing scrabble with u or something
