I’m not to sure about that. For starters I’m sure their used to fire(they live in Hell after all) (I don’t think so, they did go to the demon world but it’s never said how hot it is there, looks moderate temperature though, and niether of them live in hell either they live in the human world),Dante fought and defeated Cerberus(who for some reason in this game was ice elemental),he fought Beowulf(who had control over light),and he has Alastor(an enchanted sword of lighting.) (those were more element-enhanced attacks, like they originated from the enemy and they can avoid that easily, the only one that wasn’t like that was vergil’s modified judgement cut at the last mission in DMC3, some of the things I saw in that video are completly different then what Dante and Vergil have faced before)
they can just block/avoid attacks,
Its argualby but I really believe Vergil to be a better swordsman than the other two and could probably react in time, Dante well he has Quicksilver which slows down time. (yes but even then, he needs to get his DT up there first, and everyone knows how you’re supposed to do that, killing things)
Actually DT increases from just attacking or taunting things.
and some of the attacks Sora was pulling in that video were far too fast for either of them to think of being faster...
I need to see those videos. Vergil with Dark Slayer style can teleport but I guess his regular speed is greater or equal to Dantes. (equal, and his teleport is only slightly faster then Dante’s trickster jumps, the main bonus is that it doesn’t stall him when he lands)
Just in case hears Dark Stalker style. (I’ve memorised it, Trick up, trick forward, trick down/back, like I said before some of the attacks that were in that video could take down Vergil with the way they attack and how fast they attack)
Moves with Dark Slayer Style:
Level 1: Air Trick - pressing “O” while an enemy is onscreen will result in Vergil doing a short teleport towards an enemy (usually the one that you are locked onto). This is a lot like Dante’s “dash” move, except the direction can not be controlled, it is always in the direction of the enemy. One thing to note is that this move can be used while not holding R1 to lock onto an enemy. This allows you to teleport to an enemy of your choice, simply by pressing the control stick in the direction of the desired enemy and pressing “O”.
Level 2: Trick Up - While locking onto an enemy, press forward on the control stick and “O” to execute this move. Vergil will teleport to a spot directly above where he is standing. This is a good move to get away from a projectile attack, or to follow up an attack that sent an enemy in the air. One thing to note is that you can jump before you execute this move to gain extra height, and you may also use a regular dash move after you use this move (affectively using both in one sequence).
Level 3: Trick Down - While holding R1, press back on the analog stick and press “O” to teleport directly downwards from the air. The true usefulness to this move is that it grants you a back dash while already on the ground, so figuratively speaking, someone who has mastered all the teleporting moves could avoid all damage.
Dante and Vergil are more built for toe to toe bouts, with the powers Sora and Roxas have it puts them at a very bad disadvantage...
Not to sure, I need to see those videos. (it’s built quite heavily in long range, that’s the biggest weakness in their (Dante and Vergils) aresenal, they have few decent long range attacks, they need to get really close, and all Sora and Roxas have to really do is stay behind and pelt them with elemental attacks from a range)
Not to sure about that. I’ve seen videos where a guy was able to block and avoid every attack a boss threw at him, he won the fight completely unharmed.
It’s still hard to call, toe to toe alone they’d be even but when you get into longer and longer ranges the power starts tipping towards Sora and Roxas.
Not sure about that either. Dante and his wide variety of guns gives him an advantage plus his gunslinger style. Dante has good aim plus none of his guns run out of bullets. Just in case these are the guns Dante uses from all the games:
Devil May Cry
Guns
Ebony & Ivory - Dante’s standard dual pistols with an impressive firing rate. One appeal to them is their anti-gravity aspect. They can keep Dante in the air for a short time or his enemies for as long as he can blast them. One is for distance firing, the other more suited to rapid-fire attacks. These guns bear the inscription “By .45 Art Warks -For Tony Redgrave."(Read the novel for more information)
Shotgun - A sawed-off shotgun with spreadfire and heavy damage at close range.
Needlegun - An automatic nailgun that can only be used underwater but is crucial to certain missions being that it is the only means of offense when submerged.
Grenade Gun - A grenade launcher that fires long range explosives with a slow firing rate and sluggish recovery.
Nightmare ß(beta) - A mysterious energy rifle that can be charged to create a multiple-projectile blast which all ricochet off the walls and ceiling causing massive damage. Note that this ability drains Dante’s Devil Trigger. It is even possible to use it with a weapon that does not have devil trigger powers. However, it gives the minimal charge.
Devil May Cry 2
Ebony & Ivory - Dante’s two handmade pistols with an unbelievable rate of fire.
Shotgun - Powerful sawed-off shotgun that can knock enemies back.
Submachine Guns - A pair of guns with an even higher rate of fire than Ebony & Ivory.
Missile Launcher - Has a slow rate of fire but inflicts a lot of damage within a relatively wide range.
Devil May Cry 3
Ebony & Ivory - Dante’s two handmade semi-automatic .45 caliber handguns. Their rate of fire is dependent on how quickly the player can press the fire button. The guns seem to be based loosely on the Colt 1911 handgun.
Shotgun - A powerful 12-gauge double-barreled sawn-off shotgun with a large spread. Good at knocking enemies back but has a fairly slow rate of fire.
Artemis - A demonic laser weapon that can target several enemies at once.
Spiral - A very powerful sniper rifle with a slow rate of fire.
Kalina Ann - A huge rocket launcher with a large blade attached to a chain on front, which is used like a grappling hook and a bayonet in conjunction with the Hysteric attack.
And his moves with the Gunslinger style:
Gunslinger
Focuses on techniques for firearms.
Ebony & Ivory Abilities
Twosome Time - Fires pistols in two different directions.
Wild Stomp - Fires pistols at a downed enemy, then kicks it away.
Rain Storm - Jumps into the air, blasting pistols down in circular motion, knocking down all enemies.
Charge Shot - Charges weapon, then fires off a magically imbued burst.
Rapid Shot - Quickly clicks off a large number of shots in a short period of time.
Shotgun Abilities
Fireworks - Swings the shotgun around like nunchaku, firing in different directions.
Charge Shot - Charges weapon, then fires off a magically imbued burst.
Rapid Shot - Quickly click off a large number of shots in a short period of time.
Gun Stinger - Rams the shotgun into an enemy and fires a concentrated burst of buckshot.
Point Blank - Fires the shotgun while standing right next to the enemy, doing massive damage.
Artemis Abilities
Multi-lock - Locks on to a single enemy and fires several lasers at them.
Sphere - Fires a giant orb of laser energy.
Acid Rain - Shoots multiple laser beams into the air which come raining down on enemies.
Spiral Abilities
Trick Shot - Ricochets bullets off walls to hit multiple enemies.
Sniper - Targets an enemy’s weak point and fires a high-damage shot.
Reflector - Fires a bullet that ricochets off nearby surfaces, then hits the enemy for massive damage.
Kalina Ann Abilities
Hysteric - Fires a barrage of mini-missiles at the enemy.
Grapple - Fires the bayonet at an enemy, impaling them, then pulls them towards you.
Vergil isn’t that bad with long range either:
Long Range Weapons
Unlike his twin brother Dante, Vergil does not believe in using guns. Although, in the Devil May Cry novel he visited Goldstein, the 'old lady' gunsmith who made ebony & ivory, and bought a sawed off shotgun similar to the ones in the games, but the novels story may not be canon because it was written before Devil May Cry 3. Therefore, he has none. However, he does have a long range attack: summoned swords. If you have played the original DMC, these are the same things that Nelo Angelo summons to fight Dante in their last battle together. There are a variety of different ways these swords work, and they are as follows:
Summoned Swords: These are standard swords that Vergil can conjure up using magic. By pressing Square, a blue magic sword will appear near Vergil. After a short delay, they will rush forward, towards the closest enemy. Pressing square rapidly will increase the rate at which they are fired. At the beginning of the game, they are at level 1, and the rate of fire is fairly slow, but it can be upgraded to level 3, at which point they will be fired very fast. Something to note about Vergil’s summoned swords: You may summon swords while using melee attacks on enemies, by pressing triangle and square at the same time. Although fun, this makes Vergil ridiculously powerful, and most enemies will fall within seconds.
Spiral Swords: This is an upgrade that you must buy for a hefty 20,000 orbs. Pressing and holding square will summon 4-6 swords that surround you in a circluar formation, pointing out. Activating Spiral Swords costs 2 Devil Trigger orbs. They will spin around your body like a shield, damaging anyone who comes into contact with them. When these hit an enemy, they will eventually deteriorate and disappear. While they are around your body, however, you have a few options (if you do not choose to just let them hit an enemy):
1. Pressing square will take a sword from around your body and shoot them at an enemy. You can do this up to 4-6 times in a row, since that is how many surround your body. This allows you to throw a quick barrage in any direction you choose.
2. While locked onto an enemy, press back on the control stick and square. This will cause all of the swords around Vergil’s body to appear over his head, then shoot all at once towards an enemy. While this may sound impressive, it is not any better than just pressing square multiple times to just fire all of the swords.
3. While locked onto an enemy, press forward and square. The swords will go away from Vergil and surround the enemy for a few seconds, after which they will all strike at once. This is a great way to take out troublesome enemies while focusing on the smaller foes. Vergil uses the same attack against Dante in mission 20.
Mostly with the elementals, the attacks that were meant to catch you off guard (like Ceberus' Ice Drop, ones that originated off-screen or away from the enemy) were slow enough to dodge(with the exception being of course Vergil’s Rage Judgement Cut at mission 20, it carpet-bombs the entire arena at random) Sora and Roxas use the same type of attacks which come from virtually nowhere with no warning and very fast.
Sora and Roxas' atttacks are just much more random then what Dante and Vergil have faced, and are faster, they can barely get away from the other attacks as it is, something that is faster...
I really should finish Kingdom Hearts 2.

That video makes a good example of it, Sora uses an attack that generates an electrical attack underneath the opponents feet, niether Dante nor Vergil have had to deal with attacks like that, and the defenses that Sora and Roxas can make with that same magic makes all the long range capabilities of Dante and Vergil useless.
The only advantage Dante and Vergil have is their melee capability, they’re both probably better swordsmen then Roxas and Sora, but all R&S have to do is keep away from Dante and Vergil and continue to pelt them from a range, since V&D don’t have any effective long range weapons.

(summoned swords are much much much too slow to hit Sora or Roxus, and I think they both have a counter for spiral swords, all the same the main advantages again are at close range of that. Dante’s guns are also hardly effective as well, Ebony and Ivory would be the only effective ones because the energy ones once again move too slow, but what kind of accuracy he would have with them because of Roxas' and Sora’s speed I can’t say for sure)

Probably would be better... (don’t requote this just start a new note)
Most of those weapons are very slow, Vergil had just about no problem blocking bullets from Ebony and Ivory and all the other weapons (bar the sub-machine guns) are even slower than bullets, in the videos Sora moved just as fast as Vergil and Dante do in DMC3, so him blocking bullets would be just as easy as it was for Vergil.

Well I’ve read down just a little and it’s already surpassing Dante and Vergil’s abilities, obviously it gets stronger and stronger as you go down so I would still have to say that Sora and Roxas would win...too tired to try and explain anything right now...infact I’m practically tired of the argument, God Of War looks like he knows quite a bit about DMC himself so I guess you and him could keep it going...

Trick Shot - Ricochets bullets off walls to hit multiple enemies.

Sry, but firearms will most likely not work on Sora. Sora’s been up against firearms and won. He can counter shots by simply blocking them. Guard blocks physical attacks including projectiles. He also can use Reflega. Unlike Guard, Reflega creates a barrier on all sides of Sora. This spell blocks physicals and even reflects magic attacks. When used as a finisher, it releases multiple shards at the enemies, hitting and stunning them at the same time. He could also avoid shots by simply teleporting away from them. Sora also has the Warp Snipe. This reaction command allows Sora to teleport next to a shot and fire it back. Sora can teleport and hit the shot around the area a total of three times, damaging several enemies. Sora has another reaction command; Return Fire. This backfires the shot at the opponent the instant it is fired.

Although if the shots did get reflected Dante and Vergil probably wouldn’t be harmed since they can block bullets just as easily, that and bullets do practically nothing to them. (Dante got shot in the head twice and barely even flinched)
Like I said long range weapons wouldn’t work too well against Sora and Roxas...though weapons are weapons and they could come in handy...don’t forget either that Dante can only carry 2 guns and Vergil only has Summoned Swords...
So...ranged weapons are pretty much out AGAIN...

How did he show you he can’t cut people?
Plus, had you paid attention to some of his other attacks, you would actually realise that he doesn’t need to cut anything to kill MC, he has dozens of spells to kill him in alternate methods...
If Sora and Roxas can beat Dante and Vergil, and one of the Sparda brothers can beat MC, then obviously either Sora or Roxas could beat MC...Vergil could kill MC and don’t even bother trying to debate it, block bullets, throw said bullets back at MC, Spiral Swords and Judgement Cut afterwards...none of that he can dodge except maybe the bullets...

Vergil can beat MC, using the physics from both games (which are practically identical since both happen in real world situations, on planets that kind of stuff), and Roxas can beat Vergil...
Ok then just nevermind that, we’ll just go Roxas vs Master Cheif.
Roxas>MC
No problem...you saw the counter commands Sora has for firearms...not to mention all the magic he has for an offensive...(some of which is as fast as lightning, or even light, MC can’t dodge that if hell froze over...)
