If you are as much of a classical music purist as you seem to claim, then surely you realize that Mozart’s music was never originally intended for any type of guitar - classical or otherwise  .
People today play classical music in ways that it was never intended and on instruments for which it was not originally written. Concert pianists (such as Glenn Gould) and other musicians have long interpreted classical music in different ways than it was originally written. I highly doubt the original composers would have favoured some of those interpretations, yet today we call some of those musicians geniuses. Music, like other art forms, is in a constant state of evolution. Get over it.
