I’m just saying, the amount of skill and intelligence in Rock/Metal out performs Rap on EVERY aspect. Therefore there is no real debate. And that my friend is why rappers don’t deserve my respect.

Rock and rap alike both have stars that have some stiff writing their music for them, then they play it, then when they suck they use expensive equipment to make it sound cool. What the hell ever happened to a clean sound like Black Sabbath’s “We Sold or Souls for Rock and Roll”, Metallica’s “Kill 'em All”, or Testament’s “The New Order”, just a few examples. That shit is simple some guys in a garage with a microphone in front of their amps and drums. Rap is just part of the social degradation we now call music...

Modern day recording techniques give you a perfect sound for not a huge price, and this is evident from the number of people who now record in their own homes, with pro-quality set ups for less than $10,000. The industry standard software ProTools is available to anyone with a PC, as is various mixing and recording software. Hell, even Audacity would do you a half decent recording.
The quality of production has nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of the music. It’s how big an influence the producer or record companies have into the project that ultimately affects it’s marketability.

mooo Guest | Basically i hate the stereotypical rap so much. the main thing i hate rap is how almost every single rapper has nothing to do with their actual MUSIC, and it’s all samples. I love rage against the machine because tom morello, tim commerford, and brad wilk write awesome music and play extremely well, zach de la rocha is not exactly what i would call a talented vocalist, but he can write really good lyrics and knows how to perform. Rap, is talking rythmically. Some songs make me respect certain rappers, till i hear another song by them that completely contridicts themselves and follows the stereotypes. Pretty much all rappers are like that.
Things i’ve been told by rap fans
-NoOne likes rock / shows this dudes a conformist
-Rock is just shouting / complete bullshit
-Rock is just emos bashing their instruments / emo is a sub-genre of rock, and the “bashing of instrument” is referring to metal, which is about 5 times as difficult as regular rock.
-Rock has worse lyrics and is all satanic / rock can have just as disturbing or controversial lyrics but never anything as degrading, haha, name any satanic musicians and ill give you a dollar
i could go on for ages but can’t be stuffed but...
