i like old school alot, but we are in the next gen.
With the Wii you can be Old School and in the Next Gen!
Metroid was originally on the NES, third generation.
The 4th Gen and lower is usually considered old-school. (Age of SNES and such)
Metroid Prime 3 roots from Old School, while Halo is from the 6th Gen (X-Box) which goes up to the current Gen, 7th, today, of the Wii and 360 and PS3 and such.
I could go into a much more detailed post about why this is important but it is most likely un-needed since a study shows 92% of Halo Fanboys don’t listen to reason and it has risen to an estimated 98%.

Halo is not targeted towards 17+, it is just rated that way.
PC_Gamer, when you posted the two pics, the top one (of MP3:C) is stretched. The top one is ALSO saved as a low quality image type, such as JPEG (most likely).
The bottom one, of Halo, is most likely a PNG or a BMP, two high-quality image types.
But really, who cares about graphics and sound? As long as the graphics and sound are good enough to give an immense, epic awesome adventure feel to the game (The SNES checks off good on sound and graphics, IMO). What really matters is Game Play and storyline.
When you are playing Halo, you run around accomplishing tasks with a quite simple storyline.
Metroid has a vast storyline that will require several play-throughs to understand the whole storyline. The Metroid Prime games are basically a Metroid Encyclopedia with an awesome game put inside it.
Really, I don’t see the argument here, just a bunch of Halo Fanboys whining about graphics and sound beating Metroid.
Yes, I admit, their graphics are usually better.
But still, you shown a stretched JPEG image of metroid (while playing) to compare to a non-stretched BMP image of halo (during cutscene).
Wow, way to bump an old unresponded thread jackass.

And technically, Metroid Prime 3 is way more bad@$$ than Halo 3.
I STRONGLY dissagree.
Halo 3 has a much more interesting in depth story, more replay value, ACTUALLY HAS SOME KIND OF MULTIPLAYER, has a huge community behind it, and just more fun to play all together.
I bought Metroid Prime 3, and I have to say it sucked more than the rest of the Metroid Prime 3 games. I’m usually lean towards Microsoft in most cases, but you can’t dissagree with me on the following:
1) Couldn’t switch weapons. Seriously, I like the green beam and all but I want to at least look at my fire beam again if I can’t even shoot it.
2) Can’t combine missiles with the beam any more. That sucks pig nuts, because you could pull off some really badass moves in the first Metroid Prime games, and the Wii can handle more because of extended software capabilities. So... was retro just getting lazy or something?
3) NO FUCKING MULTIPLAYER! Were the developers on crack???? How could they leave out multiplayer! I mean for FUCK SAKE Metroid Prime 2 had multiplayer! EVEN THE DS VERSION HAS MULTIPLAYER! Fuck, it even has online! I would have been slightly happy with some split screen or something! I didn’t pay 50 bucks for some game with a watered down single player only to find NO MULTIPLAYER! In order for a shooter to be better than the other titans out there, it has to have an amazing single player (Which it kinda/sorta did) and some great multiplayer.
Also, if you don’t believe me take a look at the sales. Halo 3 is one of the top selling games this gen, and there’s a good many reasons why.

And Halo definitely doesn’t have a better story.
You’re joking right?
People didn’t even talk until Metroid Prime 3! And even then it wasn’t all that great...

All a game really needs is a bad@$$ single player. It doesn’t need all this extra sh*t to be awesome.
SUPER F*CKING METROID
A campaign with a great story that lets you play with 4 other friends and replayable films that allow you to take screenshots and save them online on your computer and even find out when they were taken and where, as well as being able to activate challenges w/points to add to replayability???

Halo 3 wins.
Oh wow. You really won me over with the picture saving and points to do mindless tasks for. Halo 3 obviously surpasses the highest caliber of games, like Metal Gear Solid 4, Call of Duty 4, and Super Metroid.
