The thread loads all the pages before it, which is why the first page will load nearly effortlessly, and the last page seem to take an eternity.
I guess if it comes back in an error that the site is not active your internet just can’t load the page because of too much lag and aborts the request.

Or archieve older posts, and only load when requested.
